I found that LWRC DI ICDIR5B16 can be had for a tid over 1k.
I don't think LWRC have many models of DI. Could anybody comment on this?
Really appreciate all the help from everybody.

The LWRC is a fine high quality rifle, and made in Md too .

Bit of a jump from the initial discussion in this thread. MSRP is $1600 . quick searching shows a cluster of them priced around $1500 and a cluster around $1350 . All those plus shipping and transfer. For that you could get a 6721 And a Windham HBC previously under discussion.

But if you have better luck or search skills than I , and have a line on a LWCR for under $1100 , that is a screaming deal.

    Thanks again.
One website has quite a few priced at around 1k, including one at 999, some even have free shipping. Since it's only $200 over 6721, and just the free-float hand guard costs ~$100, it seems to be a really good deal.
I wonder if the gun is actually the LWRC model w/ msrp 1600.
All things equal, I'd rather buy Maryland.

John, I've looked at your website, and your price is very competitive on those AR's that I looked at. Will definitely keep that in mind.

You can pick up the Magpul flip-up backup sights reasonably as well, if you prefer irons starting out.
Those magpul iron sights cost $70 a pair. Are they worth it? How about those $20/pair sights?
I've got a red dot, but still want a pair of iron sights as backup.

Another vote for Colt 6721 - how many times have you heard or read the phrase "as good as a Colt" - if that is the case why not just get a Colt to begin with.

Thanks to all who posted, really appreciate all the info.
I've place an order on LWRC DI over the internet (buy once cry once), just waiting for the shipment to arrive. I'm hoping the LWRC would be of same or better quality as a Colt.
For some reason, quite a few listings have gone missing after I posted here. I wonder if our friends at LWRC are monitoring this forum. :)
With apologies to John, but I live exactly 2 hr away one-way. So although I make a point of buying local, just can't see myself driving 4 hr.

Finally got my AR15 after waiting for the shipment for over a week. Still don't have a magazine yet. Since I have nothing to compare with, can't say much about it. Just excited to hit the range on the weekend.
For those who are interested, a good deal still can be had, just need to look harder.
Again, big thank you to everyone. You guys rock. Hope to meet some day.
