One caveat. You have to BUILD it and submit a picture of it. Not just describe it.

You really have to love Ruger. I should be finished with mine as soon as my barrel comes in. I think they could offer more selection of stocks. That seems to be the most changed that I have seen folks do. Not counting internals such as triggers and such.
I'll send in a pic for fun.

Maybe I'm missing something ... what's in it for me again? Sounds like they want me to do a bunch of industrial design work for free. I could see some value if I were a custom gunsmith and the Ruger-produced rifles were going to carry my name.

... okay, read through the contest rules. The Grand Prize winner receives $5000 to spend on a Ruger firearm plus gets a trip to the NH factory (total value approximately $6500.) Nine First Prize winners receive a Ruger firearm of their choice, approximately $279-$2195 value.

hvymax, they'll disqualify you photo for having the MDS logo in the background. They explicitly state that the photo must have nothing but the firearm in it (no people, logos, trademarked or copyrighted items, etc.)

I wonder if they could take over ZK-22 production from RedJacket.

It's simple to me, just put an adjustable pull weight trigger on the stainless target bull barrel version. Or do they have that yet. Gee, people spend $200 sometimes on a different trigger. Add that to the one with the adjustable Length of Pull for the stock so my kids find it easier.

I was thinking about purchasing the 10/22 stainless takedown as my first rifle, but now I might wait for the 50th anniversary model. I like the one designed by Chris from Tennessee.
