I'm looking for a gunsmith around Anne Arundel county to do some work on a shotgun. Currently it has a wooden stock and recoil pad that makes it have too long of a length of pull. I'd like to take about two inches of wood off the stock and install a new recoil pad (one of those shave-to-fit style pads).

Being that I'd rather not hack the stock up myself, can anyone recommend a gunsmith that could do a professional job? I'd prefer one that doesn't have an 8 month back-log of work. If a long back-log isn't avoidable, what shops offer good work that allow you to 'get in line' and then bring your gun in when you get closer to the front of the 'line'?

Scott's in Glen Burnie. Scott is the man. He did a beautiful job shortening the stock on my O/U and adding a recoil pad.

I agree that Scotty does excellent work, He has done work for me in the past few years and back when he worked for Atlantic Guns, But if his backlog is too long stop in at Clyde's in Pasadena and talk to them. They are shotgun people there. Also the Sportsman on Kent Island.

did we ever figure out who that was?:innocent0
No. Apparently they were able to work out some type of agreement, so the guy wouldn't out him.

Frankly, that's ********, because I for one would just as soon avoid it happening in the first place.
