    Any one have one? Thoughts about it versus the Springfield or Ruger in similar models?

    Neither is in the class of the Dan Wesson 1911 Bobtail Commander (Guardian). But then again the DW costs twice as much for a reason. Mine is in 9mm as I prefer that for both competition and carry.

    Have had one for 2 1/2 years. Great all around pistol. I use Wilson Combat Elite 8 round magazines and in a few thousand rounds only recall one failure shooting remanufacturerd ammo. It shoots anything straight. Reliable. I had a nice older 5" Kimber that I sold and missed having a 1911 in the lineup, so I bought the Remington. It's a better pistol than the Kimber. No regrets.
