AR47 Build Question

Does an 7.62X39 barrel designed for the AR platform fit the standard M4 upper receiver?

Dont believe so. Standard upper...different bolt and barrel. Then magazines and maybe need to play with a heavier hammer spring and buffer/buffer springs.

Now, if you build one of the styles of AR 15s that take actual AK mags, then yes you need a special upper reciever.

Yes, it does fit in a standard receiver. You will obviously need a 7.62x39 bolt to go with it.
