Swung by my local pawn broker. Scored a near perfect Smith & Wesson Model 37 (no dash) from about 1961 based on the serial number for $500.

I Feel like I hit the jackpot on this one.

Got my grandpa's. He was a PI. It shoots dead on with 158 round nose. Can hold a man size silhouette at 50 yards. Aim at neck, drop into the body. Your going to love it.

Good heavens! I would NEVER come close to guessing that piece is nigh on 60 freaking years old - well before lawyers got involved with gun making - what a Score!

OTOH, I sold a neighbor who just got his concealed the stainless version of that same gun (albeit, not quite 59 yoa) for $350 ... and I didn’t know if I gave him a fair price or not ... til just a moment ago! :rolleye12

Don't shoot it too much, or you'll end with a cracked paperweight. Obviously, the previous owner(s) knew that. Appears to be in beautiful condition. Nice collectible gun. Enjoy.

Well I will shoot it occasionally, but it will likely be mostly a safe queen. Fortunately, I have a model 36 I can shoot in its place.
