I just got back from running 250 rounds through my Sig P365 which I picked up yesterday from BP. Here are my observations.

After I picked it up, I took it home and cleaned/lubed and dry fired about a couple hundred times. The trigger releases and resets in a good place for me. There is very little movement which translates into less movement of the gun on target.

Since I can, I took it down and gave it a good polishing. There aren't too many rough edges as almost all the parts are MIM. I did polish the sear surfaces and broke the edges which did make it a little smoother. When I get a replacement striker (non in stock anywhere), I will do a more aggressive polish as I think I can smooth it up some more.

Everything fits right and the barrel lockup is nice and tight. I can't say I like the mag release as you have to be a contortionist to release with the right hand. A higher button would help.

The sights are great! I was shooting under an overhang and the day was really dreary yet I could still see the green insert in the front sight. The rear sight was blacked out (like I like it). Obviously both sights would glow if it was darker.

Shooting was a dream. I bought this to replace my Kahr P9 which I have carried for many years. The kahr is a very accurate gun and the Sig proved to be just as accurate. I had no problem making ragged one hole groups at 7 and 10 yards with all types of the ammo I took with me. The location of the trigger let off just seems to be perfect and really does keep the gun from moving around. Something else that may help this effect is the wider grip and the pinky rest on the magazine.

The Kahr is similar in grip size but it is thin and tends to move more in my hand. I put a Hogue slip on grip on it for this reason.

There are some straight triggers for this gun and I may consider one. The reason is that the curved trigger tended to slap my index finger. Those who have changed to the straight trigger and have posted on line seem to be happy with them.

If you are an old arthritic dude like me, you will need a LuLa to load these mags up especially the 12 and 15 rounders. If not, you will be taking lots of Advil.

I shot the gun slow and fast as I could and never had one malfunction. It has primer drag like most striker fired guns but it runs and runs. It didn't show any preference for a specific weight of pill. I shot 115 through 147 and they all went pretty much the same place. The slow fired groups at 10 yards were a one inch hole pretty much.

Compared to my Kahr, the Sig feels nose heavy but it probably helps with recovery. The other thing about the Sig is that it doesn't rattle around like my Kahr's. The movement hasn't affected their accuracy but my Kahr's slides do move around some and any caliber does it.

So If any of you are on the fence about getting one of these. My recommendation is to do it as it is a fine piece of machinery.

Great write up John, I love mine. Shot it at the AGC Steel Challenge this past Saturday in Production Pistol and came in 12th out of almost 30 in that division. The guy who finished directly behind me also shot one.

    Definitely a great shooter.

Thanks for a good write up. 1200+- rds thru my wife’s 365 without any issue. She has fired the same. It is a great pistol, and i like the trigger and the 12 rd mag helps purchase on the grip It gets easier to load after it sits with rds for a while. The good trigger makes it more accurate than the glock, imo. I have been thinking about getting one for me, but i got her hand me down G43 that i have become quite attached to despite its low rd capacity, and i would need to buy new holsters.

Got o 1791 holster in the mail today for a sw 19 2.5”. My wife was making fun of me. Holsters are cheaper than guns.

Thanks John, this is on my wish list for when my W&C gets approved and I can get my HQL. I'd love for you to "polish" mine too if you're close to Carroll County.

    I'm a Sig fan too, already have a made in Germany 228/9mm, a 239/.40, and a .22 Mosquito.

Good write-up. It's my EDC too. Amazing how small and light it is with 10 rounds.

John, you are driving me crazy! (in a good way). I thought I was sold on the CZ Scorpion and you got to raving about the Banshee. I thought I was going with Glock 43X and now I'm re-thinking the 365. Can't wait to rent both to make a final decision. Once the panic subsides at LGS, I hope to be making several purchases. Thank you for your updates.

It is a great time for gun owners and especially those who carry. I carried everything from a Cotl 1911 through a Sig 229 and S&W M&Pc40. The newer smaller guns with the increased capacity make wearing a gun almost unnoticeable.

We just got in a batch of P365 Tacpac. They come with three mags and a holster. Price is $550 if I remember correctly. It's a nice setup.

John, has the striker drag caused any noticeable wear on the firing pin? I am thinking about picking up the P365 with tritium sights.
