I think they are starting with H2Oi. Its not a sanctioned event and for the past 2 years it has brought in lawlessness including vandalism, severe disturbing the peace and violence. I expect that Cruzn will not be as bad as its not the same age of people. Actually some H2Oi people will come back to Cruzn and they will get the same.
Bike week last week was pretty calm and they were not up as late as the H2Oi crowd does with the crackling annoying exhausts.
I expect Bike Week and Cruzn will come back next year and they will try to put something else to fill the gaps in Sept.

Yes, every OC thread turns into bashing. Whatever, there is always some place further away that is better, that's fine. But I'm not going 6 hours to NC on the weekends. And I"m not old and boring enough for Rehoboth nor to deal with the cost of housing there. Besides, I come here to fish anyway and hit the board walk a couple times during the year for the arcade, pizza and maybe a funnel cake or ice cream.

Fisher's will ship it to you. We're nibling on a bucket right now, and haven't set foot in O.C. in close to 15 years.

.....and if there's an emergency craving, they sell it at Roy's Kwik Korner in Glen Burnie!! (At least they did prior to Covid)

OC court? Is it OC or Worcester County?
I've been in court for speeding ticket of family member. His fine was reduced. MANY others had theirs reduced also.

I think the purpose OC is doing is to make things painful
Honestly, I don't mind the cars being here but things got out of hand with vandalism, excessive speeding, noise and throwing things at the police.
They basically had to "go too far" this year before pulling back maybe next year.

OC, as in Ocean City District Court at 6505 Coastal Hwy.

Fun part today was the mobile rubble strips. Saw them on 142nd St (bayside). Not very tall maybe .5" an 12" wide. LEO was sitting in a Town Truck pulling a$$holes over for speeding, trying to burn out the strips an trying to steal them:lol2::lol2: Saw them later on Jamestown an Old Landing. Coastal Hwy was a parking lot after 3P.M.

At 4:30P.M. sixty plus "kids" waiting to get the cars out of impound at the temp lot (the old gas company lot on 66th St).

I saw 15 or so cars loose the front end being towed in the ten hours I was in town.

Bunch of dumb kids siting on the curb smoking dope watching cars. One group pissed off an old lady when she asked them to get off her porch. Shouldn't be smoking dope an not offer any to the old girl. Kids where trying to tell the Cops it's only a half ounce. Kids didn't know MD is 10 grams for a fine an no jail.

Still didn't see any Canucks yet.

I miss the lunches I used to get at Roy's when I was in Glen Burnie. Those women really knew how to make a sandwich and gravy fries. :party29::party29:

I was in OC in 2019 for this event. Insanity is not a strong enough word to describe the antics that were going on. Block long burnouts on the side streets, speeding, running red lights ...

FYI - If you get in the area, they're currently closed on Sunday and Monday. Open 10-7.

Call in only. They ask for car description and whether cash or card. They bring your order and a card reader, if you're paying that way, to your vehicle.

Sorry about your leg sir, and yes there was a decent sized crowd! The weather wasnt all the great anyway. Wild Bill's was definitely different this year.... it was hard just to find a 2020 Bike Week shirt this year lol.

I did read there was a pretty bad accident on friday night I believe?

Thank you, I am on the mend... the weather flipped Friday night, but was still tolerable. I missed getting a "2020 Corona Rally" shirt, but I did get a pretty cool gun shirt near Wild Bill's... I was watching the tube Friday night when I heard MedEvac land nearby... I'm guessing they landed at Jolly Roger's lot... I was staying down the end of Robin Dr.

No problem with arresting and fining people for actual dangerous and illegal activity violating the rights of others, racing, fighting etc. But declaring the entire city a "special event zone" rabidly enforcing arbitrary MVA equipment rules on vehicles not subject to MD inspection, and basically shutting down the roadways is unconstitutional BS, unfortunate so many are OK with it because the target is a group of unruly A-holes from out of state.

Agree... and not OK with targeting anyone... apply the law equally to all.

Don't get me wrong, I love bike week and came for decades before selling my bikes but more people get hurt at bike week than H20i.

Don't know of any stats... but I can believe this.

The OCPD has obviously become heavy handed. So is your premise that only H2O has bad apples, or that those getting tickets are the ones causing issues?

Again... all groups have bad apples. Obviously Bike Week had at least one bad apple(ha... kind of a pun:innocent0) judging by the picture I posted.

A friend was there as well... that's how I knew I didn't want to be there... especially on a bike.

It be great if they drug the fartboxes on the drive wheels in gear to the impound lot.:)

Wife and I just pulled into town at 73rd street. What a zoo! Ive been coming down her for 60 years and never saw it quite like this. My daughter says it sounds like Summit Point Raceway outside.

The heavy hand is due to the local businesses and local government. Both have a vested interest in getting people to patronize more than gas stations and 7-11's.

I'm sure an event during the school year is what is keeping families from coming down during the summer, and not the persistent crime on the Boardwalk.

Business owners should stand in solidarity if they don't want these people down there. Don't rent to people coming down for this event. Close your restaurant during this event. They won't because money is green.

A bunch of places are closed all weekend and a many are closing early.
The hotels won't close cause of the share holders etc. They had meetings about this and Senior week all during the summer with the Mayor. Senior week is tougher cause its more about the individuals and not the vehicle. They will likely have more people again and swarm where there is trouble. Senior week is more than Seniors which is the problem. Lots of trouble makers and dealers in town to sell stuff to the "seniors". Your not going to get rid of the people coming, but more to change how they behave and get rid of the lawlessness.

Video from last night of an assault on police:
    https://www.facebook.com/2155453794780368/posts/2824144764577931/

Synopsis for those without book of faces, a kid is firing off fireworks within a large crowd. Troopers spot the kid and tackle him as he's running. Another kid jumps on the one troopers back and appears to try and take his gun. Luckily several other troopers show up and plaster his ass into the ground. Another dipshit comes along and starts throwing bottles at them.
