Yes, I am a procrastinator, I should have made this post months ago. I need some last minute wisdom from the folks of MDS. I'm new to AA and not familiar with the nuances of local govt. What are some of your choices for pro 2A candidates and pro 2A answers to the local questions?

I vote "no" on all ballot questions, simply for the fact that if some leftist politician thought it was a good idea, it's probably bad for me.

Generally agree. Except this year I voted for sports gambling. At least I’ll get the entertainment while they mismanage more of our dollars.

The leftists will continue to whine that the schools are perpetually underfunded despite decades of the lottery, years of casinos and now sports gambling.

No on both state ballot questions. No to giving the General Assembly more power and No to sports betting. It won't "Fund the schools".

No to most of the County ballot questions. What Norton said. Extending the power of the current administration and council is not a good idea.

2A votes? Your Congressional representative matters here, but the deck is stacked against you. The district is designed to elect a Democrat and the Republicans run folks who shouldn't be block captains.

Why should the Reps put an effort and valuable funding into a race in a district so gerrymandered that Jeffrey Epstein could probably win it if he had a (D) after his name on the ballot? Welcome to the State of Disenfranchisement. :sad20:

Or to turn it around, only people not highly qualified for block captain are inclined to run with essentially zero chance of actually getting elected .

I voted at Pip Moyer middle of last week, no line for paper ballot at around 5pm. Only state/local question I actually cared about was sports betting. Don't care where the tax money goes, but why send it out of state, plus it's fun.

I voted no on sports betting, out of spite. Typically I am very libertarian and an overly local consumer, but I am tired of the lies and deception.

The only state or Howard County initiative I voted for was reducing the terms of county board members from five years to three years.

Well said. I was thinking the same. I'll have to read up on the judges.

Very good general advice. There was one AACO question that would allow for increased access and oversight by the auditor. Looking over the shoulders of these lefties rulers seemed like a good idea to me, so on that one I did vote yes.

Can you not get "entertainment" from the myriad legal gambling schemes in Maryland?

Is everything else droll, except betting the over/under on the University of P. O. Box 2000 vs. Hoodwink U (the Harvard of matchbook universities)?

It’s also the inconvenience of driving to Delaware to place bets. Opening up gambling in MD will keep those dollars in state, more jobs, etc.

A vote for no is a vote for more government telling you what you can’t do. IMO

I am for opening up gambling but question two is completely too vague it lets the General assembly basically do anything they wish.

Vote no when it’s vague; it’s just like “you have to pass it to find what’s in it”

I generally vote no on the additional gov overreach. I did vote yes for sports betting and yes for the audit proposal. Also skip or vote no for judges, cuz most are part of the problem.

Ohh I got my mail in ballot today, after I already voted in person. Wonderful job USPO. You still have an IG report about you.
