Have one collecting dust, and thought I'd look into modding it.

Seen some modded ones on YouTube that seem to hit pretty hard.

Anyone else here done so? --JB

    Modify it in what way?

Funny, I google imaged what you were referencing and saw that I own one myself! Never paid attention to the model number.

Just got back from my local Walmart and I was so tempted to pick one up! The ability to shoot in my back yard and the neighbors not going nuts was very appealing! And the price of pellets! I could shoot all weekend without breaking a $10 bill!
I am seeing the mods some people are doing like 24" barrels, shoulder stock, and flat valves for extra fps... I think I will be owning one before the end of the weekend!1

Right!? I shoot indoors in my garage even - with a safe backstop of course... Crazy cheap to work on anti-flinching...

Granted one is modded to .22 cal, but you hear how hard that thing hits!? --JB

Kind of an old post, but thought I would put my 2 cents in... I have a 1322 that I've just finished modding out. Here's what I did:

TKO22 barrel shroud (installed a front sight from the Discovery rifle)
Airgunsmith flat top piston and modified valve
    Airgunsmith trigger kit
Crosman steel breech (I swapped out the bolt with one from the Discovery rifle)
New front barrel band so I could mount a longer barrel
Crosman rear sight to go with the steel breech

Now, with 15 pumps I'm getting around 12-15 fpe, which is pretty good from a pistol. It's a critter gitter for sure! :party29:

Pretty old thread. I just picked one up today. My buddy has one of the originals...with the rear cocker....we plan to make some mods to them...stocks, steel breech, trigger mods....I had one as a kid...my first "real" air rifle/pistol. I had up to that point, been shooting an old springer pump...No idea what the maker was, but you had to unscrew the barrel and the insert contained the spring and barrel all in one...that thing had a distinct hard right curve...BBs were loaded by nearly ripping your thumb nail off by sliding the spring to the rear and painstakingly getting the BBs to drop in the small hole....I learned a lot about the old "Kentucky windage" way of shooting...I could shoot pine cones off trees by adjusting to the curve of that shooter...but I shot it a ton...anyway...back to present day...I picked up the newer 1377 today...I put about 20 rounds through it and absolutely missed shooting it....I have a small Stoeger trap that accepts the smaller 5x5 drop in targets. Easy to set up and shoot inside. It's really quiet already...but I will be adding a suppressor or whatever you choose to call it later on...First thing I did was compress the trigger spring and polish the trigger bits...much smoother and lighter now...but, out the box, it wasn't terrible. I will set it up on a rest and see how tight I can get it to group this week with the chrony. I have a steel breech coming this week too...not sure if I will swap out the valve system as I have never delved into that part of an air rifle...or even if I need too. I currently have an Air Venturi Avenger and Stoeger x20...so this will be primarily my indoor shooter...my next decision will be to keep the iron sights or add an optic...when I swap out the breech, I will have to make that decision, as it eliminates the rear sight.

    1. A cheap TRS 25 red dot works great on Crosman pistols. 2, buy the plastic shoulder stock especially if you put the 14 inch barrel on it. 3. For a silencer, I prefer this type on a lower powered gun. It is thinner and lighter and cheaper than the Donnyfl silencers made for HPA guns and it still gets the job done.

Thanks John....the stock is on the purchase list...I was just talking to my buddy about optics....red dot or stay with open sights ...He is leaning towards a red dot...I've only had experience with quick acquisition style, so the dot has appeared rather large....I will have to do some looking...

It all depends on the size of the dot. If you have an 8MOA dot, it is pretty large about 2 inches at 25 yards. If you have a 2MOA dot, then at 25 yards you only have a 1/2 inch dot.

First impressions are good. Fun, quiet plinker. I polished the trigger/sear surfaces and compressed the spring last night. Super fast and easy. Did some quick shooting through the house into the garage. 33', on a rest with the stock sights. Very smooth. Gonna be a fun little project gun for sure. I have another heavier pellet that I haven't tried yet. These are crosman destroyers, at 7.4g. I only did 5 pumps for this string. I tried using the chrony, but it apparently hates my indoor lighting. I tried two different sources but kept getting errors. I will try again outside when the rain stops.

Found this moderator on thingiverse...it dropped the sound from 90dB to 81 with 10 pumps...it is even quieter with less pumps. It slides in and is held in place with the front roll pin...which I chose not to pound back in. I have a replacement pin with side screws coming shortly. This moderator isn't very robust, so I will probably upgrade further down the road....as of now I don't have a front sight, but was able to manage once I had a reference point after a few shots. The steel breech should arrive this week....I will clean the barrel, add the breech then run some more pellet through to see how it is progressing with grouping.

Those 3D silencers work pretty well and are a good deal for the money.

I have a printer so it works out well. Some people share them for free, some charge a small fee for the file...Euler357 on the forum, has some great designs. This one works well. Buckrail has a nice one for $20, but it is friction fit into the barrel only...I like having the mechanical connection as well. The hard part is waiting on the mail to get the parts here....trigger time is happy time...since the rain doesn't want to leave .

I picked up a 1377 at walmart a few years ago for $16 on clearance. Haven't shot it much. I will look into those mods. Especially the increase in FPS. Dont want to go supersonic though. Accuracy suffers

I think i have an old 1322 around here somewhere too

What a steal!!! I ended up paying quite a bit more than that...but I did support a local shop. Ye Ole Cutlery shop in southern maryland. Pretty sure if I find any on sale again I'd snap them up and store them.

Received and installed the steel breech. Found a 4x32 scope in my box of stuff. It isn't the best, sight picture is blurry...probably why it was given to me a few years back. I shot a few rounds to get it on paper. I'm waiting for the lever pin to arrive before I start shooting it a lot. I don't want to egg out the hole with the temporary punch...and I don't want to pound the original pin back in. Looking for a clearer, inexpensive optic...I like the fixed 4x, but I'm not married to the idea of fixed...if I find a relatively short stubby optic.
