I bought a G19 at Andrews AFB last Thursday, 4 Feb, went online and got an application number and PIN from MDSP, paid the $10 and submitted the 77R at Andrews.

I was expecting my NOT DISAPPROVED email today but nothing came in at 0600 as expected.

There is no reason for it to be disapproved and have never experienced a delay before.

Not that I am in any great rush, I can't pick it up until 28 Feb because I picked up a 1911 on 28 January 21.

It does have some cool perks like being able to buy c&r handguns and rifles directly from out of state sellers and having them shipped directly to your front door

True. But a Collector Designation is needed for more that one regulated firearm a month in Maryland. Unless you buy 2 but then you have to wait 60 days to buy another.

Thanks for the input guys. I meant to say collector paperwork, not C&R although it would be nice to have both.

Easy to do, and doesn’t cost anything other than a notary, and doesn’t expire. No reason not to get it.

Yes. The form is available (somewhere) on the MSP website. My bank notarized mine for free (although that was back when I could walk into my bank...so who knows these days).

It would be interesting to see if the OP submitted the DC paperwork ASAP to get processed before the 30 days, if they would then let it go or wait the full 30 because it was not originally started as a DC. The USPS wouldn't let that happen though.

ETA: Here's the link that shows where to mail it. The link to print out the application is at the bottom.

Thanks for the info and the links.

I have the application all filled out, headed to UPS Store for the Notary signature as soon as they open and then into the mail today.

Edit: Forget trying to get anything notarized at a UPS store. Appointment only and not on the weekends. Found a neighbor who is a notary so she did it for me and it went in from Huntingtown, 2-Day Priority mail.

Had I seen your post earlier, I would have told you to swing by the shop and we would have notarized it for free. Mary is a notary and she even has collector forms printed out. Just fill in a reason and mail it off.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer. Very generous of you. Through our neighborhood's private FB page, I found a lady just down the road that is a notary.

Every time I see a UPS Store ad it makes me angry - every time I have needed something notarized, their notary is out, their notary is busy, their notary is appointment only, etc.....

    Everything "ing" my a$$!!!!

I know that APGFCU will notarize through the drive through, other banks and credit unions probably do the same

Thanks, I'll check with our local branches because I will never darken the door of Prince Frederick or Dunkirk's UPS stores again.

In addition to the notary availability, their stated hours have them opening at 0900 on Saturdays. Doors locked and no one answered the phone until 0915-0920 at either store.

MDSP "Not Disapproved" email came through at 0600 this morning (27 Feb). Was kind of surprised it came on a Saturday morning. I figured I wouldn't see it until Monday.
