Lots of people doing this with poly80 frames., I think the trick is to start with a lighter color and go darker. You can also do this with polymer mags and furniture.

I think the most important part of this is to ensure that you fully degrease the part you’re going to Rit Dye.

I'm not sure Rit dye comes in rainbow color but I would like to see the final product.

How much Rit Dye? Was it the powder packets or liquid?
Liquid, costs $4.00 I used the entire bottle and next time will try only 1/2 that. This was my first time and it turned out great.
When I parkerized my AK-47 barrel and trunnion, I used a stainless steel fish poacher, which was a long oval shape. It's a big flat bottom, oval shape covered pot. I bought it for about $20 online, but the moving company stole it along with much of our kitchen appliances and dishware when we moved to the Washington DC area.
