I recently had an issue with MSP when selling a C&R pistol so I thought I would pass on some advise that may help others in the future.

Some MSP troopers are knowledgeable about firearms but many or not. Even less really know about Curio and Relics. To make things easier, I suggest you bring a copy of this BATF info, https://www.atf.gov/firearms/curios-relics as well as a copy of the C&R list page if your firearm is on the list and a copy of the Maryland statute that says C&R firearm purchasers are exempt from having an HQL. (if the buyer doesn't have one)

Corporal Esposito is the trooper handling the final approval of the 77R's and me and another forum member have given him an education which I think will help. However, at the Barrack level, you never know what experience you are in for.

Hopefully this will save some folks from a hassle in selling their C&R pistols.

One of the last transfers I was involved in at GB, the purchaser (I was the seller) was asked to produce his Designated Collector Letter. I think it was Officer Cutlet who waited on us. I just told him that there was not and never has been a requirement that the buyer show their DC and that he didn't ask for it a couple months earlier when I was there and the police would issue a denial if the information didn't check out. He just went ahead and submitted everything and it all worked out. He is the same officer who told me a year or so previously that Tokarevs werent C&R because they can shoot armor piercing ammo.

Me and 6DEN had another interesting episode at Glen Burnie Barack last week. The idiot took almost an hour to get through the process and he had all sorts of misinformation that he passed on to us. I can't believe how misinformed they really are. :sad20:

well, to be fair the CZ.82 is kind of a head-scratcher as to why it's C&R.
    Somebody pulled a favor I think :)
( after poking around, someone got the curator of the museum at West Point to say it was "of museum interest" ).
