MDers transporting (not CCW) hanguns in PA

Does PA have restrictions about where nonresidents can transport handguns like MD does? It looks like the other PA threads all deal with ccw. I'm asking about a MD resident (without ccw, but otherwise legal gun owner) properly securing his handgun(s) and ammo in his vehicle to shoot on a range in PA. Can he then legally go other places in PA that are not ranges or on his way home (like a store, or friend's house)?

I'm thinking it should be fine because PA is America and all...but I've lived in MD my whole life I don't know how to be free.

Again, I'm not asking about "carry," just transporting: unloaded, cased, out of reach, separate from ammo. How about on a motorcycle?

Thanks.

This is the relevant statute:

You are fine so long as everything is locked and separate.
