I finally got out yesterday to shoot my Avenger. It was too cold to set up a Chrony so I have no numbers. I adjusted the trigger as best I can with the adjusment screws. I will have to do some sear work to get the rest of the creep out at a later date. I degassed it and adjusted the regulator to 2500 and turned the hammer screw in about a turn. I then filled it to 4000 PSI.
I zeroed it at 25 yards using an old Weaver 2-7x32 scope and it was putting pellet on pellet for both the 25gn and 33gn pellets. I only ordered these two to get started as I plan to use bullets with this rifle. At 50 yards, the 33gn was still right on while the 25 moved about an inch off the side (there was some wind). Both were still getting stacked just like at 25 yards.
I decided to see how much power this thing had so I got a piece of scrap aluminum and shot it at 25 yards. Here are the pics.
While I plan to fluff and buff this and tune it when the weather warms, I feel that it was damned good right out of the box! For $300, you are getting a hell of a rifle. You can compare it to a Crosman Marauder which costs more and has less features. If you plan to use your rifle for small pests like squirrels, raccoons and such, you can go with the .22 and get a lot of shots per fill and still use 25-30 gn pellets since the higher pressure gives you 34 FPE or so which is plenty for smaller game.
Enjoy.
