While looking for my first AR at 2A I saw this at the shop and I liked the style and FDE color so I thought I'd take a chance even though its pretty new. I put about 200 rounds through it at the range and had no problems. Seems pretty solid and the trigger felt good. I only added Magpul MBUS sights since it didn't come with any. Ill be looking for a good optic to put on it soon. :D

After about about a year of ownership and too many modifications to list to get it to where it fits me like a glove.

man I love those HK style sights.

I originally had the HK G3 drum sights then I got the actual 416 sights which were so expensive and hard to get for a good price.

It turned out that the 416 sights were terrible and my groups opened up so I went back to the cheaper G3 which has a much smaller diopter .

If you notice the G3 has an open sight which gives the aimpoint a clear view.
Much better then folding down a pair of Magpul or Troys. If I turn the drum to the number 2 position then I still co-witness at 1/3 which allows me to move my eye up and have an independent view with the red dot only.

Overall the HK sights sits lower than most sights and one of the big problems is being able to co-witness with an optic. So I removed the spacer on the Aimpoint mount and it all came together quiet nicely. Big advantage over your typical AR sights is that I get a better cheek weld and the gun is far more impervious to fine movements. I lucked out although it could have been far worse.

Well got my first AR, started with the Bushmaster XM 15. Nothing fancy, just figured I needed to start with the basics and build from there. Looking for suggestions on accesories. Main purpose will be home defense and plinking.
