They say bread is the staff of life. Preppers need to be able to make their own.

Thanks for sharing. Part of my preparedness plan is to actually begin building my own pdf/video library of information like this.

I might try to make my own yeast too it seems pretty easy.

Got to wonder about an article that does not understand the difference between yeast and bacteria.

    In several places.

Sourdough starter is a bacteria and yeast. Bread yeast is a yeast, which is a form of fungi.

In the old days, people carried their sourdough starter is a ball of dough. They would pinch off a piece and put it into the dough.

They would add more flour and water to their dough ball.

A better plan might be to print them out and file in appropriate three ring binders. An EMP could ruin your plan.

Baking without an oven could be a challenge. Need to think how you will solve the problems of living off the grid and practice them.

A few thoughts off the top of my head.

Wrapping dough around a stick next to a campfire like in boy scouts. (It either fell off or was burned on the outside but raw in the middle) Probably takes practice.

Dutch oven. Good old cast Iron Cookware.

Kerosene Oven. https://www.kerosenestoves.net/keroseneoven.html They used to make something like this that would sit over top of a Kerosene Lamp.

Baking flat bread on a hot rock.

If you have a bit of juice (e.g. from solar/battery), bread machines are supposed to be pretty efficient. I'll have to make a loaf with my Kill A Watt plugged in to see exactly how much energy a 2 lb. loaf uses.

I've also heard good things about the Colemn Camp Oven:

    BTW, remember Bread Flour?

I haven't seen anything except All Purpose at Sam's or Costco for over a year. A.P. works, but not as well as bread flour for some recipes.
