    Where they send me.
I would look at WV, bit further but still drivable to your parents.

Moving to Frederick is just getting you a little bit better for a little time.

I have been partially working in Frederick now for maybe 15 years. I have seen the transition from rural, to more suburban hipster mecca. All the hipsters moving to overpriced townhome/luxury apartments and condos to escape DC and Montgomery county, and continue to vote their failed ideologies. I was servicing equipment at one apartment complex around Ballenger Creek, and the rent per month was twice my monthly mortgage. I hope to never live in an apartment again though. I live in Carroll, and it is changing slowly to be more liberal as well, but not nearly as fast as Frederick county. Frederick is having socialist marches downtown, demanding police abolishment. So far that hasn't happened here. Frederick used to be awesome, but on it's way to becoming diet Montgomery County.

It's not just that Frederick County is quickly becoming MoCo North...it's that former Governor O'Malley and the MDS gerrymandered the Congressional districts to eliminate Republicans from having a chance at Congressional representation. Instead of Frederick County being represented by one person in Congress...more often a Republican...the county is now split between two Democrats...maybe in perpetuity.

Received an email this morning, that Sen. Mike Hough is running for County Executive.

Seems a bit of a mixed bag to me.
That would be surprising, and a loss in the MGA for us 2A people. Seems like it would be a step backwards for him, but maybe he's got eyes on Governorship. He has zero chance of winning that though...he's a hard-line conservative.

Only because Queen Jan can’t run anymore. That’s what we get in a totally blue county and city elected officials. Questioned FCPL officials when we can expect the next phase of their tiered reopening and got this reply….. so librarians are being used as healthcare officials? GMAFB!

Well...well...well...seems some people are making “demands”. Welcome to Frederick! Just three words.....Get A Job! Nice to see the homeless still can afford cigarettes and Starbucks. Guess you have to set priorities….

    To answer the demands: 'No.'

My wife called FPD on a couple of those homeless on Carroll Creek before. There was an obvious, in the open drug deal, as well as an unwrapped bottle of vodka being passed around. We are FAR from Karen's, and mind our own business, but the people that do that on Carroll Creek can ruin a night out with their fights, cussing, yelling, panhandling, etc. The cop who answered the phone thanked her for calling. She said they get lots of complaints about those homeless, but usually don't have anything actionable. A drug deal and open container* was enough to at least shoo them away for a while.

*I'm for open containers on the sidewalks, but obviously public drunkeness can be a nuisance and dangerous.

Passed by today on route 40 in front of the old Fredericktown mall. Free Palestine? Coming soon to a rural city near you! Seemed made up mainly of BLM and young punks with a few gray and wrinkles thrown in. Wanna bet they didn’t have a permit?
