Odd that. A good friend's BIL passed and he was not interested in the stuff so he asked if I wanted it. Tons of tools, rivets, buckles, belts, kits etc etc. I'd love to look over your shoulder if you would be willing to get me at least understanding what all these tools are for. Totally understand if not.

As far as tooling and what they are used for I am still working through what they are also used for. I was also gifted an entire library of books and patterns. My friend could free hand things like animals, flowers and other things. I do not have an artistic bone in my body. So I will try my hand on stamping just have to figure out where to start. Next project will be a sling for the 45/70 hopefully some stamping and designs.

Would you be interested in working with canvas at all, or doing leather repairs?

    How about custom-sized magazine pouches/holders?

I just want to keep things as a hobby for now for now. I actually did work in a sail loft and help make the sails for the USCGC Bark Eagle before she was recommissioned back in the 70s. Canvas depending on weight and thread count could be as challenging as leather work. Back in the early 70s when Harundale Mall in Glen Burnie was open there was a German shoe cobbler store there. I lived in the apartments across the street and use to donate some time to learn some of his craft. He use to make custom shoes and boots but mainly he did repairs. I had a pair of wellington boots that he resoled for me for free after helping him out with the bull work.
