Before I bought my compressor, I read all sorts of threads where people referred to oil turning dark or black. So, I bought several bottles of oil and changed it after the first 30 minutes, then after the next hour. Both times it was clean. Now I am at the 5 hour mark and it is still clean. Am I just lucky or what?

What are you guys doing as far as oil change interval?

Mine is still the same purple clear. Been about 3 hours of total run time on it.

I'm feeding it with dry filtered air which might help.

I'm sure in the long run, that will make a difference. I have upgraded my water pump and plumbing plus added the water wetter and antifreeze mix. I know that keeps the temp down better than plain water and it should keep corrosion from forming in the compressor water jacket.

I just switched to Purple as my original oil (Home Depot Synthetic) was getting a little dark. I think the purple will have to be changed by time as it will be hard to tell when it is dirty.

Well Poop!!!! Went to my buddy's to shoot today....ran my air venturi avenger down to 400psi....shot his PCPs down as well. (BSA Super 10 and a Falcon FN). Bragged about how I could refill the all easy enough...plugged the compressor in and turned it on...immediate spark out of the rear and blew the breaker....I'm awaiting a response from the EBay seller.....they say 5 year warranty....This would have been the 6th time I've actually used it....fingers crossed for a happy resolution.

Yes....I start it with them open...then close them to fill. As soon as I clicked the switch...pop, spark out the back...after that, the next attempt just immediately pops breakers.

Forgive me if I don't run out and open mine up to see what could of happened. These days, if my equipment is working, I don't play around with them.

Never crossed my mind to ask...if the seller refuses to honor the warranty I will open it up and see what the deal is.

Still awaiting a response from the ebay seller....fingers still crossed...the ad says 5 year warranty. In the meantime, I received a Hiram hand pump from Amazon...easily went from 500 to 4k psi....just needed to use my legs and let my body weight push the pump down once I got to 3k. This pump has the filters in line for moisture. At least I can still shoot while seller takes their time...I've sent two messages...I will wait a few more days then see if ebay directly or even paypal can get involved.

If you have saved your original ebay purchase page, I would go to the contact area and say you want to send it back. That will trigger a window allowing you to say what the problem is. Getting paypal involved was detrimental to me when I had a problems with a seller.

Had to call Ebay directly, unfortunately "their hands are tied" because of the time that has passed. I ordered it September 27, 2020...ad clearly states 5 year warranty. Ebay also stated the seller's account has been suspended as well....even better news....guess I will have to try paypal, if I can actually speak to someone (not holding my breath)...as the time has passed for me to file a claim as well....not giving up, but it isn't looking good....looks like I will be cracking that compressor open and give it the ol troubleshooting try

I have read various threads about getting parts via Allibaba or something like that. The commenters seemed to be happy. Somewhere, someone published a parts breakdown of the compressor but unfortunately I didn't save it.

I took the rear case off....first thing I noticed was the ground. It is a typical fork connector, slid under a painted bolt, onto a painted frame....the heavy gritty black paint. Similar to rhino liner paint...I disconnected it and dremeled the paint off, giving it a good grounding surface. Nothing inside looked scorched or smelled burnt....I plugged it in and turned it on. It ran fine....I did not attempt to pressurize it. I just filled my rifle by hand, so I have nothing to pump up for now. At my buddies house it immediately tripped his circuits...two different circuits, one with a GFI. Fingers crossed it really could be that simple....I had mentioned before that I would get a slight tingle from it when it was filling the tank....I chalked it up to static charge from the high pressure....maybe it wasn't that....
