This barrage of amazing examples makes me feel like I'm looking in a mirror! So much of what's filling my safes is showing up in the OPs recent threads. And much more that I don't own. Beyond impressive.

Found one. I'll need to get another with the bayonet mounted.

JROTC drill team from 58 years ago. I won’t say which member I was, but we drilled with functional M1 Garands minus the firing pin. If I only knew then what I know now!

    Thanks, all.

Reptile: I actually hate the Garand personally. The ones we had for base honor guard were junk, jammed, and smashed fingers constantly. I've never liked the design. My M1D is a nice historical piece, though, and decently accurate.

Gew 43 with scope and two correct mags.

I have two WWII vintage Garands that I shoot and I enjoy them for their historical significance. The ones I carried in JROTC were heavy and I didn’t like field stripping and cleaning them every Friday. As bad as they were, they were even worse for drill team routines. But I would love to go back in time with my current knowledge of their present day value and select a few to put in a time capsule to open now.

Awesome collection, love the artillery luger (I need to find myself one) and the PEM. Would love to see more of that. How's it shoot if you've shot it?

Both shot very well. If I can shoot it, I do. We just got custom 14 gauge brass for my wife's 1858 Charles Lancaster shotgun, and fired that. Shoots great, especially at 163 years old.

I'll try to get some pics. Big show this weekend, so I may not have time. OTOH, I need to rearrange the WWII vault after some recent finds, so I may have stuff out.
