if its mitchells pass. use the money on something banned post oct 1

Agree to disagree, I purchased a Mitchell Mauser knowing full well it is a refurbished Mauser. I purchased it for what it is and that is a fully finished K98 looking like or better than the day it came out of the factory. All parts are as new, the Barrell and Bolt look and fit better than any Russian capture I own. The Barrell is sharp and shines like Chrome, The Bolt feels like butter and it has been Headspaced, and all springs have been replaced, most likely with Wolf Springs, all Nazi Markings are proper and not restamped. I am fully aware all serial numbers have most likely been restamped.
I purchased the Mitchell as a SHOOTER not a COLLECTOR and a Shooter it is, shooting better groups than any capture in my collection.
Knowing you are buying a Mitchell Shooter, at the price offered buy all he has.
Now if you are looking for a Bring Back in that condition with papers, run, do not walk and grab that Rifel, you are looking at a $1,000.00 + piece.
    Just my opinion.

Holy $hitballs... $729 for a non-matching RC K98.. wow... and there is still time left on the auction.

Sold $779 and 27 Bids, Deffinately a mix-matched RC, not in what I would call great shape. My only answer, this gun buying panic has got way out of hand.
I really wanted to school the Bidders, but it was not my place to do so.
Things seem to be calming down a bit in the C&R Market and ammo and reloading components seem to be comming back in, That "Better" is as long as you don't live in the Peoples Republic of Maryland.

If Socialist can capitalize on an incident to promulgate contrived fear in the Populace, that fear will allow them to strip unthinking citizens into willingly giving up the Rights won by the Blood and Sacrifice of their forefathers. In the end you will be left with neither Safety nor Freedom.

On the night of 27 February 1933, the Reichstag building was set afire; Marinus van der Lubbe, a Dutch communist, was found guilty of starting the blaze. Hitler proclaimed that the arson marked the start of a communist uprising. Violent suppression of communists by the Sturmabteilung (SA) was undertaken all over the country, and four thousand Communist Party of Germany members were arrested. The Reichstag Fire Decree, imposed on 28 February 1933, rescinded most German civil liberties, including rights of assembly and freedom of the press. The decree also allowed the police to detain people indefinitely without charges or a court order. The legislation was accompanied by a propaganda blitz that led to public support for the measure

It could be worse in terms of C&R here. We lucked out on not needing HQL's for C&R handguns.

That's an M48 as you've probably been told. Was manufactured post WW2 and the markings are all Yugoslavian. "44" is the factory number, not the year, and the 1943 on the crest is for the year of Yugoslavian "Independence" (as measured by the communist government).

It was indeed made on German tooling built there during the war. But it was made years after the war.

That's the bad news. The good news is these tend to be nice rifles. Well built, and it should make a nice shooter for you. I don't think you overpaid.

Ya I guess it's Mitchell's. I can't read the name of the " curator" on the bottom. That's why I put "if it's real and truthful". I don't really care too much if it is or isn't. I got it to be a shooter anyways. As long as it goes bang I'm happy. Lol.
I have a Mitchell, as a Shooter it is a great gun, Headspace perfect, great groups, still Nazi marked, RC but they put a I through the X to make it look like a Star, Stock ia a light colored Hardwood. I knew it was a Shooter when I purchased it and in todays market it would easy go $500 or more.
Find one for $200 take it and run.

Wow that is insane, especially for an auction with virtually no details (markings, factory etc).

Was the gun originally advertised on a grey blanket or something?
