I have been looking a Hatsan Mod 125 Sniper Vortex Quiet Energy Break Barrel Air Rifle in .25 cal. I don't know much about Hatsan. I have seen the name mentioned here a few times.

I'm sure it will need a better scope if I go with this. What would be a good scope ?

The Quattro trigger that Hatsan puts on almost all their guns is really, really good. I'm waiting for a Hatsan to come in myself right now.

Yes I have had an RWS 350 that ate scopes until I got one for airguns.

Maybe it's time to move up to a PCP. There are some entry level models from Crosman, Hatsan, Diana and others.

Three big benefits. 1 they have repeater bolt actions, 2 any scope or red dot works on them, 3 super accuracy with no worries about an artillery hold.

www.pyramidair.com is where I get most of my stuff.

I was surprised to find that I actually enjoyed the slow shot cycle of the break barrel. I feel like you value something more when you invest more in it and you have to put a lot of time in to each shot with those guns.

I could never get the hang of that artillery hold though. It was always only shooting well when I was uncomfortable.

I'm looking forward to the Hatsan but global supply chains are a wreck right now. Pyramyd pushed their ship date back a month already.

I have a Hatsan BT65 QE PCP. I don't recommend the "springers" (break action) because they damage scopes and are loud. The Gamo Maxim is probably the only one I would consider because it has a 10 round cylinder type magazine. You still have to "cock" it between shots but you don't have to manually load a pellet.

Mine is .22 caliber and I have to use the heaviest pellet I can find because small calibers like .177, .20 and ,22 tend to do strange things when they go faster than sound. if you get a small caliber don't try to get as many FPS as your gun is capable of. Accuracy will suffer.

If you know about springer recoil you probably know about this also but it's worth mentioning if someone else is searching here--you'll want a scope that says 'AO' somewhere--Adjustable Objective. There's no point in me explaining it here when Pyramyd does it better than I could:

but the short story is that airguns are usually shot at much shorter rangers than powder rifles but can also handle ranges pretty far out. Most people wouldn't shoot a .308 at 10 yards so many scopes aimed at firearms don't bother with it. A scope needs to have this added adjust-ability to be able to create a clear picture at the 10-100 yards that air guns are usually used at.

Found this in my inbox two days after the sale was over. It is a heavy air gun, but the youtube stuff on it says it packs a big punch.

Anybody have one or thoughts on it? It would be my 1st PCP...
