    As you all know, 2020 is an election year. In 1987, the Delaware Constitution was amended as follows, Article I, Section 20 of the Delaware Constitution, enacted in 1987, states: “A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and State, and for hunting and recreational use.”

    Over the last year and a half, several Delaware politicians have tried to strip away these rights.

    Bryan Townsend, Newark district Senate District (11), introduced a bill, SB 68 that if passed would ban virtually ALL semi auto rifles, Black Guns, AR's etc. (On March 18th this year, he walked into Cabela’s and bought a Kimber Micro 9 Pistol and 40 rounds of hollow point ammo)

    Laura Sturgeon, Senate District (4) Hockessin and Senator Sokola District (8), introduced Senate Bills 82, 69, and 70. This legislation mandated that all persons would be required to obtain a purchase card to buy a gun and would be limited to 1 handgun per month, and limit magazine capacity to 15 rounds or less.

    These Senators have also voted AGAINST your gun rights;
    Elizabeth Lockerman - District 3
    Darious Brown - District 2
    David Sokola - District 8

    These House members have voted AGAINST your gun rights;
    Nnamdi Chukwuocha - District 1
    Kimberly Williams - District 19
    Stephanie Bolden - District 2
    Paul Baumbach - District 23
    Kendra Johnson - District 5
    Edward Osienski - District 24
    Debra Heffernan - District 6
    John Kowalko - District 25
    Raymond Seigfried - District 7
    Earl Jaques - District 27
    Krista Griffith - District 12
    Sean Lynn - District 31
    Valerie Longhurst - District 15
    Melissa Brown - District 17
    Franklin Cooke - District 16
    David Benz - District 18

    These Senators have SUPPORTED your gun rights;
    Anthony Delcollo - District 7
    Bruce Ennis - District 14
    Dave Lawson - District 15
    Brian Pettyjohn - District 19
    Gerald Hocker - District 20
    Cathy Cloutier - District 5
    To review all Senators back grounds on bills they have supported, simply research their history at https://legis.delaware.gov/Senate/District then click on the candidate, then scroll down to the bills they have supported. It is very easy to find politicians who either support or oppose your gun rights. The right to buy and own a gun is your right.

    This fall, your vote will be important to maintain these rights. Please, register to vote, it does not matter what party you support, what does matter is that you review your Senate, House and Presidential candidates, review their back ground on gun rights and vote accordingly. If you are not registered to vote, it is a very easy process, simply go to https://ivote.de.gov/voterview and follow the instructions.

    Mike I’m not a DE resident but thanks for doing this. I’m often shocked by the number of people who seem to share some political viewpoints with me, but who don’t want to be bothered with voting and in at least one case someone I know someone who had never voted. That person is a self employed small business owner and with a college education. So you never know when a simple message from a familiar person might inspire someone to get off their ass and vote.

    Anyone know how many MDS members we have by voting district, and the number of votes pro-2A delegates lost by in recent elections?
