You can go on here and create a login. The Foxfire books are on it and I found it reading the Plymouth Rocks chicken book from the early 1900's. Lots of cool stuff. You can borrow books for 14 days and read them on your computer.

I have a large number of digitized files of out-of-print Paladin Press books (purchased with rights). I'm not going to list them all, but if someone has a title they are looking for, let me know and if I have it, I will share it. They published a lot of good prep and survival info in their day.

One Second After is a good read about "a man who struggles to save his family and his small North Carolina town after America loses a war, in one second, a war that will send America back to the Dark Ages...A war based upon a weapon, an Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP). A weapon that may already be in the hands of our enemies." I particularly liked it at the time because I was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC so I could almost put myself in the main character's shoes.

Another good one is Going Home, where there is no electricity, no running water, no Internet, and no way to know when normalcy will be restored—if it ever will be. An avid survivalist, Morgan takes to the road with his prepper pack on his back.

It's an excellent fictional series. I've recommended it before on other threads. Really gets you thinking, that's for sure. I like the break-down of "phases or steps" detailed throughout the book. Not sure how to explain it with a lot of clarity , but essentially was a roadmap of what to expect and how soon. One such was the loss of bipolar meds and resulting issues to deal with. Another was parental starvation / death as parents giving their limited rations to their children. I've thought about re-reading it and pulling it together into a list.

Maybe the OP could update first post with book titles suggested in this thread?

Why I asked everyone to include a summary, review and link so this could be a resource for people to actually locate the books they would be interested in but this is MDS and nobody bothers to read the posts anyway. Maybe someday when I have time I'll put them all on a spread sheet and add the missing summaries and links and make it truly helpful.

I know we've done list like this before on here, and it is useful to bring it up to the forefront for new and old eyes as a refresher. Minuteman had a lot of good stuff. Think it was 2018 preparedness thread or something like that. I'll try to dig for it when I get some more time.

The Salt book by Pamela Woods
    The Foxfire Books- https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Collection-Anniversary-Editions-Anniversay/dp/B00MRH3RYU

    Small engine repair books!

How to repair Briggs & Stratton engines!
An newer copy would work, however make sure it covers older engines as well! Their are allot of old B&S engines around that can be used for water/oil and other uses!

A Chilton repair manual for your current vehicle!
I know allot is computer driven and may not work during certain conditions, however the basics could help you diagnose the problem and remove it from another vehicle to repair yours!

My biggest concern in losing the grid to EMP, hackers, or CME. I currently consult the Google when I need to do something and read a few web pages and watch a few YouTube videos, then go do it. But what happens if you can no longer do that?

I've been visiting thrift stores for several years hoarding books that I think will be useful in TEOTWAWKI situations. Things like home repair, plumbing, carpentry, fire place building, cooking, preserving foods, sewing, folk medicine, first aid, survival skills, basket making, gardening, hunting and fishing, reloading and gun smithing, hand tool usage, military history and tactics, foraging wild edibles, knot tying, hiking and biking trails and topo maps, martial arts, well digging and water pump making, and so on.

There is a chain of thrift stores throught Denver that has half off almost everything in the stores on Saturdays so I go then and get books cheap.

    Here are some examples:

That is a nice selection of books and a variety of some great information!
    And the price is nice.

I also find books the same way! It seems the old timers are getting rid of books and not very many people find them useful nowadays!

If the internet goes down they will find that knowledge no place else.
