I acquired a Magnum Research 50 Cal S&W with a 7.5 inch barrel back in February. Then everything took a dump and closed down. Last week went to MSAR 50 yard rife range. I reload all my ammo and had purchased Starline Brass, Berry's 350 gr projectiles and large magnum rife primers, using longshot powder.

Shot 20 rounds at 50 yards did not do to bad considering using open sites and had never shot this caliber.

It was definitely fun has several lookie loos watching as it did make a lot of noise even with double hearing protection. Just received my western rig for it with a 25 cartridge belt. Heading out to western MD for deer and bear season this fall and will be using the BFR. Heading out to a 100 yards range to shoot at some steal targets. No scope open sights. I shot my 45/70 at 600 feet open site and only missed the target the first 3 rounds out of 20 rounds. Have good eye site for an old guy 20/15. In another lifetime I was on the USCG pistol and rife team. My best was shooting clays form the flight deck of a 210 cutter. Hit 20 out of 20 and won a buck knife. The good ole days.

    BFR No Big Hands

Big gun. You must have some big hands.

FWIW, watch yourself leaving that place. I have seen gang bangers practice there and I would never go there at night.

No big hands here, in fact I am a lefty so this revolver is lefty friendly. 2 years ago I had a bad accident. I was building cabinets for my kitchen and a board kicked up slamming my hand on top of a 3/4 inch dado blade. Long story short medevacked to the National Hand Center in Baltimore. 6 hours under woke up with over 100 stiches and over 20 pins in my hand. And amazing all fingers attached. I have a 90% use of my left hand and 100% of my feeling.

Some times it id better to be lucky than good.
