All but one of the county commissioners voted to eliminate the free coupons.

Saying it was "costing the county" too much money (estimated $200K per year).

Now a lot of folks are just going to dump their trash illegally on the roadsides, meaning the county will have to pay MORE money to send out crews to clean up the mess, and we'll have to deal with the visual blight in the meantime.

The ones from last year are good till, I believe, september. They extended the expiration date.

Yep, sucks. I have a handful of rentals and it was nice getting the passes. They were only worth about $19/ea though.

Did you see this in writing somewhere? I just realized last night that the coupons expired last week, thought I had till end of july.

My trash service just upped mine $6 a quarter because the landfill raised their rates to them. That translates to a $43 a year hidden tax (if you use the $19 value of the coupons)

How fast will that $200K loss be made up now?

I heard the commissioners that voted for this are accepting the equivalent of the free loads to be dropped off on their property, to be disposed of. So I hear.

I've been seeing a lot of trucks and trailers going back down 140 full lately, they're really enforcing the Carroll residents only rule.
Lucky my dumpster has a locking bar on it.

    Good.
The dump is paid for by Carroll County residents, so only they should get to use it.
The Baltimore County dump in Texas checks your license when you go there to keep non residents from using it.
F the freeloaders, there's enough of them out there already.

while I don't like it, I can't really blame them for taking them away with the loss of tax revenue due to the virus shut down and the up coming veto override of Kirwin. The entire state is going to be hit hard next year. I'd like to see them try an generate more funds by charging a premium to non county residents that want to use the dump rather then turn those customers away completely.
