I am not concerned about the cameras. The footage isn’t and issue for me. I am not firing illegal firearms or anything.

I am not concerned about the police either. I don’t do things illegal either.

The other shooters or visitors are my concern. Their gun handling, safety and looking at my items. Which is why I go during member only hrs

The "I Like Violent Gay Porn" bumper sticker on my van with the blacked out windows keeps most people from even thinking about following me home, talking to me or even shooting at the bench next to me.

The black leather tassels hanging from my buttstock.... also reinforce the vibe...

Anyone else suspicious when leaving a gun range with your guns? :envy:
I always look around for cops, make sure I am not being tailed and always watch my speed limit because I feel leaving a gun range is a prime opportunity for a cop to pull you over and harass you looking to charge you for something gun related. :sad20: Just how I feel in this day and age we live in.

I'm not worried about cops at all, they make up a large percentage of the members of my club - I shoot with them weekly. In general I find them to be great guys.

As a retired LEO, I can tell you first hand, we don't sit outside gun ranges, strip clubs or bars. There are enough idiots out here to keep us busy dealing with their illegal antics. You might want to concentrate on securing your firearms from fellow range attendee's that take a liking to your firearms.

Some of the stuff is borderline "mental" disorder in my honest non medically trained opinion. Gun range lane cameras beep boop borpin your personal belongings being automatically uploaded to LE servers.. LOL

Bro, find another hobby. You'll have a lot less anxiety and nothing to worry about

I felt this way in the height of the civil unrest this summer. What if law abiding citizens who lock up their guns and lock up their ammo and stow it away so they can't be tempted by Satan, get ambushed leaving gun ranges and have their firearms stolen by a mob.

Of course after one or two of those news stories, laws be damned.

Mine is a members only range and generally guys are pretty good about stuff. We do have cameras up.

So far it is Me 1, Cameras getting me in trouble 0.

Left a duffle with my chrono and tripod in it and promptly went camping with the family. 2 days later I get a call from one of the board members "hey, did you leave a duffle at the range?"

Of course I didn't put a name tag on it. He went through the camera footage until he found me carrying a duffle that sort of looked like the one someone turned in and checked the sign-in sheet for who it was.

I probably would have figured it out eventually, when I went to take it to the range next and likely after spending a lot of time searching everywhere for it.

I don't do stupid things. The only thing I do "against club policy" ever, is if no one is around (which is more often lately, plus I prefer to take a few hours off work occasionally to get there when they go hot on a week day morning so I can be all alone, or mostly alone), I will sometimes have multiple calibers laying out on the bench (one gun, one caliber is the rule). Because, FFS I am not personally concerned I am going to load 22lr in to .223 or .308 in to my 6.5 grendel (and I don't own a 300bo or any other setup where confusing ammo could be an issue).

Also you are only allowed to shoot at the targets in your "lane". And I'll admit if NO ONE else is on the range, I'll occasionally shoot across the range if someone left some clays on the berm. Absolutely not in an unsafe manner, safe backstop still, no chance of a ricochet or anything remotely like that.

Obviously, you don't go shooting someone else's target. But that isn't an issue here.

So I guess my biggest concern is someone will audit the footage closely enough to notice I've got a box of .308 on the table while I am shooting my 10/22 or notice I am aiming at more of an angle than I should be for the targets directly ahead of me.

I'd be more worried about who else might see that you have some nice guns and decide they want them.

Not worried about the police since my guns are all legal and are legally transported.

    This.

There have been incidents over the years where folks have been followed by ne'er do wells who have relieved people of their guns at an intermediate stop.

I don't go often these days, but I do make a point to note whether anyone could be marking me.

I keep an eye on my six-o-clock for a bit, but, honestly, I don't go crazy.

That said, the AGC 200yd range or bays 6-7? I'd be paranoid. Too many random people using that (public!) parking lot for my comfort.

Last summer, a woman's car was broken into and her purse stolen from the 200 yard range parking lot.
