I am planning on sending my Sig 365 out to these folks for a slide cut.
    https://www.mapleleaffirearms.com/sig-p365-optic-cut-sig-romeo-zero/

If you know of a better place, please let me know.

I want to put a Holosun 507K on it and am wondering if the 507k will mount on a 507c cut. I have sent an email to Maple Leaf but have not received an answer yet.

As for refinishing the slide, should I have it Black Nitride or Stonewash Nitride.

Any comments, critiques, suggestions etc. are greatly appreciated.

My two cents: why are you putting a sight on a carry gun when you will never use the sight in an armed encounter? Do what you wish, but if I was spending that kind of money, I’d invest it in a lesson in point shooting, getting holster certified, and as much range ammo as I could get.

No one touts point shooting more than I do, ever. That being said, just as you can ignore iron sights in a shoot, you can also ignore a red dot.

I just bought a Hellcat and put a Swamp fox red dot on it. More out of curiosity and to learn one. I doubt I'll revert to using a sight in a shoot. One thing to remember is that point shoot is the initial shot(s) on the threat. If there is more than 1 threat, you will have to resort to some sort of sight acquisition. I am ok if a red dot helps me get a point on target.

I just had my P320 done by Jagerworks about 2 months ago. I had them mill and mount a Vortex Viper red dot, add a lightening cut on top of the slide with serrations on top of the slide. They also cerakote the slide once all the machine work is done. You have your choice of 6 or 8 colors, I chose burnt bronze.

I can't stress it enough how perfect the work is they did. It came out absolutely awesome.

They claim to bore sight the optic after its all finished but I call BS, it wasn't even close when I fired it for the first time but a few shots to zero it in and it's all good.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future. They initially told me 4-8 week turn around time. It took 4 weeks and a day. The total cost was $210-230? Somewhere around that. If you want to save a few bucks you can forgo the lightening cut and serrations. But they only added $30 to the cost and I figure why not!

Feel free to ask me any questions.

I've used Battle Werx with a very good outcome and I think they were a little cheaper than Maple Leaf for what I was having done(Trijicon RMR cutout and nitriding a stainless long slide). They had the part back in a little less than a month of my shipping it out. Give them a look...

As Inspector Callahan observed, "A man's got to know his limitations." I'm intimately familiar with aging eyes. I second the observations of that young pup Blaster (young pup compared to me!). When I drill my first shot is point and shoot. Follow-ups at different distances/ranges do require some kind of target acquisition, and the red dot on my carry gun is invaluable in that task.

I've sent two of my Sigs, including a P320, to The Sig Armorer. His work is terrific and since he is accredited/certified by Sig, his work does not void the warranty. He comes highly recommended on the Sig forums as well. I will not hesitate to send any future Sig mods that I need to him.

Great suggestions, keep it coming as I am still planning and nothing is in stone.

I get the aging eyes thing. I put a red dot on my P320 X5 Legion for that reason. That is a range gun for me. My biggest encouragement to you is to practice both ways. If you have the time to get a sight picture, that’s great. If you don’t, you’ll still be ready. Does your red dot have auto-on and auto-off? My Romeo1Pro does. That is a game changer if you are going to carry a gun with a red dot.

I just had my p365 done at Fabricated Arms in Virginia about a month or so ago. He did a great job and even emailed me to let me know that he received my slide when it arrived. Turned it around in a little under two weeks.

Did you have your slide Nitrided? It seems the places I have looked at say add 4 to 6 weeks if you want that option.

I did not get mine Nitrided. I was planning to send it out to another place to be DLC coated at some point after all of the holiday shipping mess is over.

I just don't see making a sub compact carry gun larger and bulkier with a red dot.

And something more to snag on the draw.

Unless the OP is going to pocket carry the 365 (where the optic will severely hinder concealment and the draw), there's nothing wrong with utilizing an optic on a carry gun.
