It would be nice if the article actually listed all the states that currently allow permitless carry, and all the states that are contemplating it. You know, facts, neatly organised and easily accessed?

Modern "journalism" has much in common with modern advertising, which is full of pretty pictures and buzzwords, but very light on the information you need to make an informed choice.

Complaints aside, the loosening of carry laws over the last decade has been breath-taking. There's a clear divide in the country over the topic, and the citizens are voting with their dollars to choose firearms over wishful thinking. Their legislators are not too far behind, as they all see where the crowd is heading. Soon they'll manage to catch up and lead them where they're already headed.

The nice thing is the lack of rivers of blood in the streets, except around peaceful protests. The fearmongering hit the Wall of Truth, and more and more is seen for what it is. The peaceful rioters, who are all against an armed citizenry (excepting themselves, of course) are aiding and advancing the spread of CCW/Constitutional Carry.

The mass of the people are not particularly stupid, merely oblivious. They're being forced to pay attention now, and are acting rationally - except for the True Believers, of course, worshiping at the altar of the Nanny State.

As to states that currently allow can't help, but from the article:
Similar bills that would allow or expand concealed carry without a permit have been introduced in Texas, South Carolina, Florida, Indiana, Alabama and Georgia as well as Montana, Utah and Tennessee.

Well said and a fine example of what journalistic prose is not.

We do see one or two states move on this every year or two. But this is my count thus far but some are for residents only: permit less carry

    Alaska
    Arizona
    Idaho
    Kansas
    Maine
    Mississippi
    Montana
    Vermont
    West Virginia
    Wyoming
    South Dakota

11 out of 50 or is it 57.

Isn't licensing to carry a firearm enacted by these states? Why not just repeal the draconian laws they enacted? Only government could pass more laws relating to existing laws, you know like the Constitution, Amendment 2......

Typically those states don’t do a full out repeal so that prohibited persons can still be charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
Also they want to maintain the licensing system for reciprocity or sometimes an enhanced benefit (bypass NICS or allowing carry in certain places)
