As others have said I hope you beat your health issues. Have you considered a M-1 Carbine? Light and practically no recoil. Good luck.

What is your weight limit with your right hand/arm?

That will be the limiting factor.

I always liked them with the different manufacturers but they are out of my price range.

Pinecone I never asked about a weight limit. Getting scans next week and will ask when I get the results.

E.Shell I hadn’t really thought about it in those terms. The Dr’s never explained anything other than don't lift anything heavy. Which doesn’t surprise me.
I had serratus anterior damage and the dysfunction of these muscles (since recovered) would not keep my scapula in place as I lifted. This 'winged scapula' condition would not allow me to raise my arm above shoulder level, and even that was prohibitively painful. Dizzying, actually.

See what is comfortable for you to do now, then picture what is going to happen if your ability to lift or your mobility deteriorates.

Regarding recoil, I'd place that as a secondary consideration. I'd bet many of us here have shot a long gun one-handed once or twice and know that recoil is mainly managed from the shooting side, while main support of the firearm weight comes from the non-shooting side.

Decided to go with a Aero precision AR 15 pistol should be picking up the lower this week. Hoping it will weigh less and kick less then a shot gun.

Thanks for all of the well wishes and ideas on getting a new gun.
