    Hello,

I'm literally a new member and new gun owner. I am day 2 on my 7 day wait for my new handgun. I've been learning and reading(and youtubeing) everything to be a safe, responsible, knowledgeable and shooting gun owner. I came into this gun world after a not so friendly situation that makes protecting myself and family more important than ever. I'm a lefty and refuse to conform so my research on guns was important. can't just pick up any ol' thing. lol. Glad to be here. Any advice is welcomed on training, accessories, where to find ammo and solidarity.....especially the ammo part. :D

Welcome! Echo what Dave MP said prior.

Beyond that, the best thing I can suggest is get good training, practice when you can, and stay up-to-date on new legislation - Maryland is one of those states where gun laws can change regularly.

Even if you're a proud lefthander , when you are starting out is the best time to build your ambidextrous skills by practicing one hand only , with each hand .

Oh , and Welcome ! of course .

Don’t know where your at in county but you can try Cindys , Pasadena gun pawn, Scott’s, 2a supply by Columbia and here on classified if they will sell to you , for ammo.

Hi, thank you all for the good information. I am going to work on continual practicing and even with my right hand and I appreciate y'all taking the time to respond.

Welcome! My better half is left handed and teases the heck out of me for being a right hander who shoots better left handed. Being an ambi shooter is an advantage.

If you are going to practice at an indoor range, it's worth asking if they have any ammo for sale just for their range. A good place to look online is ammoseek.com. It shows many places that have ammo.

And welcome to MD Shooters. I have learned a lot from lurking on this site. It is a great place to keep informed and to get questions answered.

@ Mark75H said - ( Until hand injury and tendon surgery to left hand , I could shoot at least as well , and sometimes with slightly better deliberate accuracy with left hand . ( But could shoot faster with right .)

When I did shoot weak ( actually my left used to be 5% stronger than right before injury ) hand only , it didn't particularly phase me to shoot " right handed " pistols .
