The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board notified license holders on Thursday that two-bottles-per-day purchase limits for customers at state stores, as well as well for bars, restaurants and other license holders, will remain in place indefinitely.

The PLCB said "sustained supply chain disruptions and product shortages" prompted the restrictions on certain types of alcohol.

    43 types, not all.

"The 43 items on the list of restricted products also will not be available through store-to-store transfers starting Friday."

I'm sure unlimited Kamchatka vodka is still a go. :D

That's it, I'm running to the liquor store and stripping the shelves!

I don't live in PA and it may be only 43 types but that's just today. The writing is on the wall, just like toilet paper.

And if anyone tries to get a bottle I'm interested in they are going to end up like that guy who tried to buy the last Popeyes chicken sandwich.

Gotta keep the hard core drinkers on an even keel. People have no clue how many of their neighbors will have DT’s if all the booze suddenly disappeared. It’s no joke. Medically, very labor intensive. They often end up taking an ICU bed for a few days.

Back in the spring of 2020 the PA Liquor Control Board announced closures in high risk counties. That just meant that people travelled out of those counties to purchase, even then out of state. Not the desired effect to control spread they had hoped for. I knew it was only a matter of time till they shut everything down in PA. So I made several trips to our town’s PA Wine and Spirit shop to stock up on wine and spirits, even with a pretty good stock on hand. Never grabbing too many, or the last of any one thing, so I didn’t consider myself as a hoarder.

So many people I know ran out of booze quickly. I even had a neighbor, a professional gal, come begging and admitted she was a full on alcoholic and needed something. I know about the DT’s, so I helped her and a few others out. Same with TP. And I know some that even ran low on food after a short while. It’s crazy how woefully unprepared some people are.

If you make cider at home, you've got plenty of stock. Simple and tasty.

Of course, it helps if you're not on the edge of having DT's, too.

So you hit all the local joints and stock up.

If you need toilet paper, give me a ringy-dingy...

Working across the street from a liquor store is quite eye opening. A disturbing number of regulars and people waiting for the place to open in the am.

Didnt even know that there were huge supply chain issues other than a few brands. Stores around here in Marylandystan seem well provisioned with a good selection of mass market and small batch.

A close friend of mine went on a binge then tried to quit cold turkey and had DT's so bad he actually had a stroke, 32 years old, no other health concerns. He was in one of those ICU beds.

A few cases of inexpensive name brand stuff could be good barter in a time when cash or gold has no value
