I need to take an updated pic, my final config with buttstock and sights/optics... but one of my form1 9mm builds along the way from a number of years ago. I have some 10, and 45acp on ddles lowers i need to snap pics of as well.

I've always wondered how these work. Where does the bolt carrier recoil to with no buffer tube?

It feeds so good, 0 polishing or anything, basically funnels the round into the chamber better than any other AR9 i've seen. So far tried HST, Hydrashock, PDX1, Ranger, Hornady XTP, CD, TAP, GD, and so far they all feed. You can feed it really slow by hand, and it works, nose can't get pushed up into the handle path, and the lower ramp guides it into the chamber before it is out of the mag feed lips. Kinda wish they had more than the single 5.25" option with a threaded muzzle, all others are shorter barrels pinned to 16" with a brake or tube.

The bolt is also pretty awesome, limits it to 2" of stroke(pic is at lockback), and the LRBHO works. It can run at a normal 3" like most other 9mm blowback bolts/buffers use, and the LRBHO locks on the bolt face. Really clean slick bolt with nice machining too

He's probably waiting on one, think only BRN180, Sig Virtus and 22 kits can run without a buffer tube. There are some really short PDW tubes and the deadfoot folder setup, but they are oddballs.

I posted this up in the SMG45 thread, but it deserves to be shared here. My newly acquired (and for just a few more days - unfired) LWRC SMG45. It's sporting a SiCo Hybrid 46, Aimpoint PRO, and Troys. Can't wait to take it out!

That looks fantastic. Any possibility of a clear vertical flat photo? What mag are you using?

That looks like an evil ghost gun. :omg:

Lol. Can it be an evil ghost gun if the AFT knows about it? Does that make it an undead/zombie gun? Which sounds more haunted.... So are we talking the walking dead zombies or the 28 days later/world war z zombies??

    My latest 9mm build:

    New Frontier (C5) upper(made for MP5 mags)

New Frontier (C5) MP5 lower with integral folder

CMMG RDB BCG and 5" barrel adapted to work with MP5 mags(just a little feed ramp work)

Rise Armament Rave 140 (DI) trigger

B5 grip and UTG Pro M-lok forend

I'll probably slap a Sig Romeo red dot on top of it...

Nice!!! Glad it works. Now let’s do an integral suppressor and put a stock on it!

Nice. Here is a technical question since I only have one PCC and don't know much about them. What is the benefit of having yours vs the CMMG Banshee? (this is assuming that yours is not full auto, I know nothing about H&K MP5K's)

There are benefits as well as drawbacks. The main thing for me is I prefer curved magazines for 9mm over stick types. This is my second MP5 type AR9. My first one was and is extremely reliable. Out of thousands of rounds, it has never jammed or miss fed. No stoppages of any kind.

The challenge for this build was brought to me by teratos. He wanted an MP5 AR with the Radial Delayed Blowback system in it. CMMG does not claim to manufacture such a creature, so we set out to see how adaptable it could be. We've been working on this project for almost a year now and it is about to bear fruit(with a little more tweaking, I'm sure). So far, it has successfully cycled dummy rounds from a magazine. I will try to get it to the range tomorrow for some live fire. My first concern is the extended buffer that came with the lower is a bit on the heavy side and I'm thinking I will have some initial cycling problems. I have alternatives to go to, but they will require a bit of machining so that will have to wait, for now.

Drawbacks- no LRBHO for MP5s. Not even MP5 ARs that I know of. But I'm open to suggestions.
