If they take this, is it likely they’d merge it with the ny case?

And use it to address the issue of ANY carry outside the home?

Essentially addressing NY NJ MD HI CA et al. Young + Peruta from the 9th and the east coast cases?

It appears that they are going to hold this case as it was not relisted for the next conference. It does appear that they denied 5 other 2A cases including Russel, which was a challenge to the good cause public carry law. They also appear to be holding the NJ mag limitation case (ANJRPC v Grewal)

Russell had a major defect since the 2A challenge wasn’t brought up in the lower court.
    Which other cases got booted?

They aren’t going to deny cert on this case, or they wold have already done so. No reason to put a case on hold so long only to deny. This case is pending NYSPRA. The will more then likely issue a PC on this case along with a short opinion with references to the NYSPRA opinion, & probably do so the same day as they issue NYSPRA. These two cases while different in some areas are very similar in others.

They are not going to rule that it is unconstitutional for NY to require good cause, and hold the same thing constitutional for Hawaii simply because Hawaii is OC and NY is CC. Won‘t happen.

Expect to see all of the cases on hold to be GVR'd with a descriptive sentence: "See NYSRPA!".

I tend to agree with you I do think though it might be a little bit longer on some of those on hold. Such as with ANJRPC.

It is interesting to note just how many cases are actually on Hold both in the Federal court system and state courts, pending The outcome of NYSPRA case. I lost count at 26! I know there are probably more. Some of the cases have the trickle effect meaning case 1 is pending on NYSPRA. Case two is pending on case 1 and case 3 is pending on case 2 and case four is pending on case 3… etc… on and on…

After NYSPRA opinion is issued will see all of these cases coming to an end within the next 3-4 months. Hopefully all in our favor.

They held 10 cases because of NYSRPA (v NYC) yet denied all of them once the case was declared moot. What happens to the HI and NJ cases depends on the outcome of NYSRPA (v Bruen).

I wasn’t the least bit surprised that those 10 cases were denied. It was disappointing that they were. But if you look deeply at each one of them. They had various different underlying issues & problems with those cases. When the first NYSPRA case was rule moot. It was hard to do any PC on those cases without some other form of opinion being issued.

Now that the second NYSPRA has been heard, we will have an opinion that isn’t going to be ruled moot. So now we have an opinion to goon for future cases. Which I believe is one of the reasons Young and ANJRPC have been put on hold. I am not rally surprised that young is on hold, more surprised by ANJRPC is on hold. While both are 2A cases. They are both over different facts and issues
