Using a paint ball gun for self defense is most likely not a sound idea.

Full size .62 pepper balls would be comparitively slightly less worse than airsoft size pepper balls , but that's a very low bar .

Euro style " Traumatic " pistols using small powder charges actually will develop 30- 40 ft lb . Still sucks in absolute sense , but would get closer to the level of throwing a rock at them . But of course would be considered a Firearm in PRM , making it moot .

Once again , for Md Legal beyond hands on distance , genuine Tazer or good OC ( , or Both) are best options depending upon budget .
