Recently staged to load some fresh .357 magnum rounds and ran into a problem this morning. 2nd batch of loading hornady XTP 158 gr with 15.grs of H110. Went to crimp 1st bullet and on the up it ripped the case in half about a 1/4" below bullet. Removed the crimp die and took it apart to remove the top half of case with bullet. Inspected the die no damage. Anyone have any input or suggestions would be appreciated. My only thought at this point is to bell the case a bit more???

    Need pictures.

Ripped case in half vertically? Ripped case in half around the circumference?

Did you set the seating and crimping die using the longest case in the batch?

Figured out the problem,ME. after I charged 50 cases I set a bullet atop each case stepped away from the bench and when I returned I proceeded to set the Lee crimp die up before seating the bullet. The case was ripped in half below the bullet. I normally set case and add bullet right before seating. Broke a pattern I"ve been using forever.
