So, again, I stand by JoeBob but my Friday morning QB thinks that if Tyler had just said that (what I said above) at the first interaction rather than telling OP that calling is keeping him from work whenever that occurred (can't remember the exact time line and not re-reading), the whole thing might have been averted.

At the onset of an issue we have little facts to go off of from a delivery issue 2000 miles away. Therefore, our original assumption was that the label was missing an appt/suite number, because that was the reason Fedex gave us for a missed delivery. We needed to call Fedex, and see what the resolution was, to get the full story.

However, we called Fedex and they stated they had no idea why the driver stated it was missing an appt/suite number as the address looked fine on their end and it was going to be out for delivery ASAP. it was delivered just fine the following day. If I were a betting man I'd assume it was a lazy driver who didn't want to deliver a package to this guy or this address (I'd have no idea why?) so he made a false statement about the package's address to push it off a day. In the end it's much easier to see what happened vs the first 30 minutes after a handful of communications with the customer and little to go off of. The only thing anyone here could have said to begin with was that we would be calling Fedex to see what was going on.

Must have missed the exchange where FedEx said it looked fine and I completely forgot about the lazy driver. I shouldn't have as that is the current bane of everyone's existence.

Just a theory from my past investigative experience.

Maybe it was deliberate by the driver who knows how to get gun stuff without paying. I'm sure everyone has seen the videos and heard the stories about Fedex, UPS and Post Office personnel making off with goods. These so inclined people get to know what companies sell what.

Not accusing, just stating a possibility since Fedex said they had no idea why the driver would do what he did.

    I've been a customer for a while
    2020 approx $320 2 orders
    2019 no orders
    2018 approx $350 4 orders
    2017 no orders
    2016 approx $400 2 orders

I'll be continuing to use them.
IMO, something happens in shipping, you need to give them at LEAST 24hours to investigate after a failed delivery.
I've had NUMEROUS issues with UPS and USPS with deliveries especially where they need a signature and knock, wait 10 seconds then leave. USPS I have on camera many times not even knocking and just leaving a note and leaving then I pick up at the post office the next day. Heck, a USPS driver in my neighborhood was stashing mail into a locker and some of my stuff was missing for almost 2 months! A USPS priority mail package with gun parts was missing in limbo for 2 weeks despite my multiple trips to the post office asking what was going on. I gave it 3 days after stuck in "out for delivery" before going to post office.

    I bet drivers:
Know some tricks to get out of work early
Make mistakes accidentally selecting the incorrect reason for failed delivery
Don't pay attention and just make mistakes

It was delivered the following day so it wasn't stolen...

I've been buying from JB since 2011, which I believe was his first year in business. I have never had a single issue. Great customer service 100% of the time.

First, let me say I completely agree with JoeBob's side of things and feel the OP continued to dig a whole throughout the entire encounter and after. The profanity is definitely not cool and I can swear like a sailor even though I was only in the Army.

However, I did not know how the FedEx address problem is fixed. I think the OP thought if he got on it fast enough and JoeBob did as well, the truck would return and re-deliver. If you asked me to say would that happen or would it get delivered tomorrow, I'd pick the latter because it's not really feasible for the truck to return unless it was in the same vicinity. JoeBob explains that these things get handled at the end of the day and regardless of Tyler calling immediately or at end of day, the package was going to be delivered the next day. So, while my gut knew the answer, I now have a concrete explanation confirming that the package will be delayed one day to fix the FedEx error, regardless of when it's fixed (as long as it's fixed that day sometime).

So, again, I stand by JoeBob but my Friday morning QB thinks that if Tyler had just said that (what I said above) at the first interaction rather than telling OP that calling is keeping him from work whenever that occurred (can't remember the exact time line and not re-reading), the whole thing might have been averted.

Maybe I missed something and this thought process is wrong? What say ya'll?

Don't flame me if you are reading the above as anything other than I'm siding with JoeBob because that's not the case. Just spitballing alternative endings.

As soon as money is flowing again, I'll spend some more at JoeBob as I need to build another AR.

In general Fedx, UPS et al try to load trucks with with enough packages to be delivered in 1 biz day and avoiding overtime. Once a package has been flagged as un-deliverable, that truck can be miles away while continuing on the day's route. Same day re-delivery attempts are very rare since this could jeopardize other scheduled deliveries for that truck. SOP is for the shipper to contact the delivery service before COB that day so the package can be put on another truck for next day delivery. Once the delivery was missed, even Tom Hanks could not have convinced Fed Ex to attempt same day re-delivery much less anyone at Joe Bobs.

Having run a help desk, I used to think that if ignorance is bliss, we had some of the happiest customers in the world. :-) I think I will also give Joe Bob's a shot next time I need a new toy.

Yeah i didn't think the original (Complaining) post was likely. The post of the texts themselves proved the issue was NOT JBO. Anyone can have a bad day but the proof of a company is how they fix issues. JBO did not cause the issue but did what they could while in a bad position with an unruly individual, so i wouldn't even worry about what else could have been said or done. I was wearing my green JBO shirt while reading the complaint (odd coincidence). I've not ordered in a while but i will again soon.

Thank you JBO. Your wall of text sure cleared up any doubts.

The order I placed on Friday morning is due to be delivered on Monday. For free shipping and considering what is going on right now that is truly exceptional customer service. I just wanted to follow up and show support for an IP.

Joe Bob dun laid the slap down.

One of my favorite places to order parts from, particularly because of how efficient their shipping is.

    Entertaining.

Technology takes most of the fun out of arguments. Or does it add an additional level of fun? :lol2:

I just stumbled across this thread and man is it entertaining. Great timing with everyone being cooped up and all. I’ve also ordered many things from Joe Bob’s and never had any problems.
