Looking for information about what the regulations are about shooting on your own property in Harford County. I own several style weapons. Specifically, I want to sight up my iron sights on an AR-15 on my property, target practice etc... I would also like to shoot my handguns on my own property without issue from neighbors or police.

Thank you in advance for comments, lessons learned and experience.

Thank all of you for the information and reference material. Looks like I am good to go.

150 yards away from structures intended for human occupancy.

Not in the direction of any such structures.

    Not to traverse adjacent properties.

For added safety, try to setup your range down hill and over build your backstops at the ranges you will be shooting. Make them high and wide as possible to stop all projectiles.

With a suppressor and a good choice of ammo, you can shoot ANYWHERE.

Let’s amend that to say many places.

    Fewer legally.

Imma say target shooting off your deck of a town house with a suppressor and subs is likely to still be noticed and sure isn’t legal.

But a suppressor, even when target shooting legally, does help with the neighbors.

A professional “rat catcher” showing off his kill. Rat catchers would scour the sewers of Europe and receive money for each rat they killed (1904)

    I'm skeptical that this is 1904 Europe...but I do believe that's a suppressor...in the city.

In much of Europe, suppressors are cash and carry.

In many European countries, they are required for hunting.

It is funny, it is easier to get a suppressor than to get the firearm in Europe.

In some parts, you have to have a firearms permit to even handle a firearm in a shop.

Since no one mentioned it. Post your property with No Trespassing signs or Blue Stripes because you don't want someone to wander into your range while you are shooting.
