I’m near BWI. Where is a good place to find target load 16 ga. Shells? I’ve already checked bass pro, wallmart, on target, pg count trap & skeet, and 2A sales.

There's some available through ammoseek, but they're high as hell. With Walmart and Bass Pro you have to check every couple days and try and catch something as soon as it hits the shelf. Right place right time.

OP, I’m not sure if they’re still available or, if it will come that point for you but, there was an MDS member that listed several times attempts to sell a 16ga MEC press and complete package of 16ga components in the classifieds … every time I saw it I thought of all the 16ga aficionados I know who’d jump on that package, were they not states away …

Maybe give Clyde's Sport Shop in Halethorpe a call. Tyler Firearms is also in Halethorpe, just down the street from Clyde's. If you've never been to Tyler's, trust me, they're a great bunch of guys there with a good selection.

There were a sh!t ton of 16 ga. ammo on the table at the last meet up in Buckeystown. Not sure who was in charge of that table but Babalou might know where it went. Send him a PM.

    Now in Tennessee ,
I’m just looking to shoot some trap. Lighter the better in my old gun. 1913 Parker Bros.

Guns in that time frame in 16 ga. had 2 1/2" chambers not the current 2 3/4"
Best to have it checked by Gun Smith that's familiar with older shotguns and if they are short chambers he can have them opened up to 2 3/4" ,
Simply dropping a shell in and seeing if closes won't work because the chamber
length is for the length of the fired shell . You can order 2 1/2" online , but I haven't looked for any in some time for my LC Smith vintage 1938 , I ordered 4 cases five years ago , I only use her for Grouse and Woodcock, If you want to open the chambers I'd take it to Scotts Gun Smithing , He did a couple of Browning A-5 barrels years ago .

Thank you. They don’t have any. I’m losing hope. Shelves are empty!

If Rockville isn’t too far I can sell you a flat of Remington game load 7 1/2s for $100 if that helps

Thank you. I can’t use that. I need low brass . But thank you for your generous offer.
    I’m shooting a 1913 Parker Brothers. I can’t run the high brass.

Bass Pro had some 16 ga shells yesterday, #5 and #6 shot though. They had a pretty good bit of ammo there, but they were proud of it!

Try Rodgers Sporting Goods in Missouri. I bought a case of 16ga #8 there a few months ago for about $9/box including the shipping. Haven’t checked the prices lately. Excellent shop for finicky loads.

I was at a sporting clay course in NC a few weeks ago, they were asking $30/box for 16ga. Sometimes it sucks to be in a niche.

    Good luck.

OP, try Arundel Gun and Pawn. 7427 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Glen Burnie, MD

The owner, Phil, is a hoarder and used to have (I haven't been there in a while), loads of all sorts of odd ball ammo.

The Walmart by Bengie’s drive in on Carrol Island road had 16ga when I was in there two days ago purchasing 20ga 4 shot waterfowl ammo. Another hard to find item.
