I dated a girl named "pepper",, she was a real pistol,, not kidding. The gal would send me home limping!! :lol2:

Boyds Pepper Rimfire Hunter for 10/22 Carbine. It's a really tight fit. I hard a hard time getting it installed. Definitely a keeper.

My new, old Marlin Model 60. Late 80s model from the period when they had the longer barrel and mag tube as well as the last shot bolt hold open feature. Older Leupold VX-I 2-7x Rimfire scope on top. Only my second Marlin.

Wow! My FIL gave us one that my son now has. Same longer barrel and magazine. The wood on yours is perfect.
Thanks. Got lucky. It's birch but I also like the look. Got it from my LGS (Gunrunners). They got a number of rifles/shotguns from some person that had a really nice collection. Mostly more expensive firearms, but the cheaper ones were really great examples in fine condition. Tend to see this with some collectors - they get nice pieces and maintain them as such across the board.

I imagine you'll want to keep it original, but, with that said MCARBO makes a nice trigger with over travel stop, trigger springs, and metal trigger guard and wow what a difference!

Thanks for the tips. Going to keep it stock initially and see how it works for me. But I've heard that the trigger upgrade, getting spare buffers, and possibly feed ramp work are the more common upgrades/fixes.

I have one just like it and have done some mods. For me, they didn't amount to much, the gun is pretty darned good right out of the box. The feed ramp isn't as important as the lifter. If I recall correctly you can get another round into these by cycling a round into the lifter, then refilling the tube.

Good to know. I'm pretty excited about the gun. I like these 50s and 60s rifle designs. Very clean aesthetic. This one balances so well and points with ease. Looking forward to range time.

Minus the scope, this looks just like the one my grandfather had out on the farm when I was a kid. Lots of good memories.

Looking forward to shooting it. Also eyeing an excellent condition Marlin Model 99 from 1959, that preceded the Model 60. Similar in shape and form (this 99 has a very nice walnut stock), but would stick with iron sights on that one.

Eta: had some range time with it. Very decent shooter. Might find a Marlin 60 thread or start one to post targets, etc.

Been wanting an Anschutz for long time. Finally came across one for good deal especially including scope and a bit special.
