The target is at 50 yards. Stock barrel. Upgraded Kidd trigger and other Kidd upgrades. Trigger at 2.5lbs. Bushnell TRS-25 red dot. Shooting with the gun resting on a sandbag. Nothing serious. Just fun plinking. Lower bullseye I was using Federal Auto match 40gr. The top bull I tried Federal Hi Power. Never shot the Hi Power before but I liked it. This gun will hit 12" steel plates at 200yards. I would love to see what difference a nice bull barrel would make but feel If it ain't broke don't mess with it.

MM Jr. and Mr. T had the 10/22s out last weekend. They were reliably ringing the 8" gong at 50 yards, so they moved to the 4" gong at 100. Bang ... dink ... bang ... dink ... bang ... dink. It was a proud poppa moment. CCI Stingers were the preferred ammo, and made the Ruger Mark 1 and III pistols tack-drivers at the 50 yard distance. Federal 40-grain was pretty reliable too. Remington Bucket O' Boolits were hit-and-miss, but we had a gazillion of them, so downrange they went.

Taking my 11 year old daughter to the range next week. I've got a scoped 10/22 target model for her to shoot.

Last time I was going to the range she asked to come. It was a last minute request so I added a Ruger Single Six to the guns I was taking and she had a blast with that but wasn't very accurate.

Hope she enjoys shooting the rifle. I already bought her a new stainless Ruger American Rimfire bolt action for Christmas that neither she nor her mother knows about yet.

At Delmarva there's no steel plates until you get out to 200yds. Wish they would put them at 50 and 100 also. I like shooting steel. My hearing is way better than my eyes. lol

My son with me to the range frequently beginning when he was, I guess, about 6 years old. I have his first match target shot when he was 8. Used his ‘5 shot six shooter’ as we called it. Old Model Ruger Bearcat. He knew how to load it, safe it, then shoot it. Still have the gun, belt and holster…and the target.

Still have six rounds of 44 Magnum we reloaded together, too. We’ll touch them off one day.
