After the BAN ended, I picked up three AK type receivers from Nodak Spud. Romanian, Yugo and Polish Tantal. The two '47s' are togther and running fine, even after needing a little extra work on the Yugo. Tha Tantal is a different story. I got down to putting in the fire control group and the Poles used something different than the '47s'. Never could figure it out, got sidetracked and it's been sitting in the back of a closet for going on 15 years. Pulled it out recently, looked at it and still don't know how to get it going or even where the pile of parts go.

So, is there anyone who might be willing to help me get this working? I'm in St. Mary's but would be willing to travel a couple of hours.

Any suggestions, please PM me. Thanks. Sure would be fun to play with the Tantal.

The Wz.88 Tantal was the first accepted AK to ever divorce the safety lever from the FCG. On the military versions, Tantals have a 3-position selector on the left side of the receiver with positions for "semi", "auto" and "three-round burst". The safety lever has been relegated to just "safe" and "fire". As such, the Tantal FCG is designed a little bit differently. With the import kits, the selector is just a dummy switch and does nothing unless you pin it to the safety lever, and then it's just a left-hand safety switch (Century did this with import kits).

Here is a video of the install process with an ALG trigger, skip to 12:44 to skip the disassembly.
