As was pointed out by some Quinn supporters, he never really got into this race. A strong 3rd party option still helps a weaker candidate win. The history of third party proves this. I liked Quinn's position on issues. But, he was DOA in this state's political climate. I realize where this state is headed and it's not pretty.

Shawn Quinn was better organized this time than he was four years ago. What puzzles me is that the last time he got MUCH less exposure yet was still able to get 1.5% of the vote. This time he was better organized, attended more events and wound up with less than half the votes he got before! Call me paranoid or suspicious, but something doesn't quite add up!

Add in the factor that people were absolutely terrified about the thought of the.....um....other socialist running might win. Especially judging by the pro second amendment advocates here who steadfastly supported Hogan. I’m sure it was a much higher percentage with others not factoring in the second amendment voters.

I think it may have to do with the fact that Hogan had no past history and maybe people weren't willing to take a chance on him, not having a previous history to look at.

This time around, he was a known quantity and obviously appealed to a wider range of Maryland voters.

Got a huge chuckle out of me. Thought for a moment someone had hijacked your account.

Nahhhh. Just wasn't paying attention to what I was typing. I know exactly what I meant to say. Getting it from my brain to my fingertips, that's a different story.

OK, last time around Hogan was less well known than this time, and voters were willing to take a chance on him; especially when you consider that Anthony Brown was so bad! This time around, many people including those in RKBA circles who became disenfranchised with Hogan said they were going to flock to us. This is known because, once again, the campaign was better organized this time around as we had more of an organizational structure and the like.

Now, you speak of people fearing 'the other socialist', which is less relevant has he had MUCH less credibility and organization than even Brown had!

Something else to consider: the Libertarian (US) Senatorial candidate Arvin Vohra got 1.0% of the vote while campaigning MUCH less aggressively than Shawn did.
