    Hello fellow enthusiasts,

I'm recently discharged and now that I'm easing my way into civilian life once again, I come searching for wisdom and advice.
In the future when this pandemic is behind us I'll be making moves to purchase land for tactical training and shooting that favors more dynamic training than I've seen available in the area.
While the military gave me a wide variety of skills, they forget to teach me about zoning laws and regulations, and the legal hurdles ill need to jump through to achieve this dream ... If anyone knows where I should start my research and perhaps give me some pointers I believe it will greatly benefit anyone and everyone that wants a reliable place to sharpen their skills.

    Thanks in advance,
    SG

Each county has their own regulations. Where are you looking to buy? Do you belong to a club that would suffice in the meantime?

Start looking at insurance rates and a good lawyer. I say lawyer in regards to setting up an LLC or similar corporation. CYA kind of stuff a lot of people don’t think of starting off.

    THIS ^^^^^^

You will the costs for insurance to be very high.

Also, there are a number of training companies in the area, that do teach more dynamic skills. So do some more competitive research.

As has been mentioned, each county has different zoning rules and rules for where you can shoot.

And consider, even if your land is zoned properly, and you have enough land, you may still have to deal with noise complaints.

I am curious as to what area the OP is thinking about. In the DC-MD-VA area, there's quite a bit of dynamic training available, especially if you're willing to drive to PNTC or Shadow Hawk, or out to the Culpepr area. If we're talking like... near Baltimore, I think there's probably a little less of that, and perhaps an opportunity if you can find the right land, zoning, and political environment (good luck with that!).

Agree with the crowd that he needs a good lawyer up front. This is not going to be a cheap endeavor.

There is also BSR at Summit Point. Not that far from Baltimore area.
