I had an idea for a new shooting sport......Cannon Golf! You get a foursome of guys/gals who have golf ball caliber scale cannons and play a round of golf by shooting the golf balls into the holes. They have to use windage and elevation and vary the powder charge from tee off, for chip shots and the final "putts" of course the fewest number of shots wins.

I don't know if you should yell Four or Fire In the Hole.

Similar event has occurred, but for different reason at the P.G.I. convention. WWW.pgi.org
Contestants were comparing their homemade black powder recipes. Each measured 1oz of their powder after screening it for consistent size, loaded in a mortar set at 45deg and launched for distance.

Very first shot was a mulligan, golf ball hit a power line on the way down. :lol2:

These are really cool! I think Matt from Demolition Ranch showcased one from American Cannons a few years ago; the poor guy is out working with black powder and a fuse, and it's just pouring down rain the entire time. :lol2:

    Know what's even better, though?

...If it's ever in stock again, that is.

And you can't go wrong with X-Products!

Sad thing is, I don't know where one could even shoot stuff like this in MD without the cops getting called. :sad20:

Mortar competitions involve lobbing balls at a target consisting of a tall stake or flag.

Those coehorns like Epps has are cool, because you can watch the ball go up, up, up...pause...then plummet down. If the ground is wet, they throw up a splash of water when they hit.
