Wouldn't that be a function of who/where/what is being guarded/responded-to? If you have a bad guy in a physical place that you can't enter without that clearance, waiting at the door sounds like a bad idea - and emergency or not, allowing uncleared folks to go storming in to deal with a trespasser (or worse, obviously) creates a months long tsunami of soul-destroying paperwork. I would imagine that the people tasked to that job would already need to be familiar with the facility, inside and out, in order to be effective in an emergency. No suitable clearance, no familiarity. No poly, no suitable clearance.

Good luck. I had to wait six months for a Poly. If they even are able to fast track a candidate it is not going to be " quick!"

Too bad I am too old also. Ex-NavSecGru, I have worked for 2 of the 3 three letter agencies that end in A, clearances up to TS and above (not current), competitor in 3-Gun, USPSA, Steel Challenge, Precision tactical, trained by ex-USAMU Max Michel. Currently work for DVA as a contractor. But overweight with one bad knee still to fix. I agree that in today's climate there are drawbacks to this kind of job, however there are no guarantees in anything these days. Good luck.

polys are quick, adjudication can take a while. But it all really comes down to the background (CREDIT, criminal, driving, foreign contacts)

We are only behind the Cadre and ahead of uniformed military and everyone else.

Had a kid from Luray clear, soup to nuts, in a little less than 3 months

Seems like a great opportunity for someone with the right skill set and career direction. May I ask, what does the non-training day daily routine look like once fully cleared and active? Report to duty, inspect and prep gear, then what? Sit down and wait for an active shooter scenario at the installation?

And shifts? All day shift or is there a rotation of nights?

One of my neighbors is a walk-on for something like this but I suspect he wouldn’t be interested in the commute.
