Step #1 on the Winchester 1894 disassembly is to remove the finger lever pin from the receiver. Its pretty straight forward, but I'm trying to remove one that doesn't line up with the hole in the receiver and won't come out. Any ideas on what to do to get the pin to line up with the hole in the receiver so I can punch it through?

Been a while since I worked on one as mine was sold a few years ago. Is the hammer back as in the video? Thinking it may be under spring tension causing it to bind. Any mechanical issues with the rifle?

I’d have to watch the video again to see what the position of the hammer is, but in my case I think the hammer was back. I’ll try it with the hammer down and see what happens.

The cartridge elevator (I think thats what its called) doesnt always stay up on its own as it does in other 94’s so i’m thinking there is another underlying issue causing this pin to not align correctly.
