Picked these up tonight for a very very cheap price.

1971 Winchester 1200. Well worn, was disassembled in a box. Shockingly it's only missing the ejector screw as far as I can tell. Took a gamble on it.

Ithaca Model 51. Reading mixed reviews online but the price was right. Seems like it's never been fired.

    How did I do?

Buddy is interested in the 1200 as a starter hunting gun for his son. Figures it's well used so what can he do to it. Can't decide whether I want to hang on to the Ithaca or not

I have found winchester 1200 and 1300 shotguns to have incredibly smooth actions, be very reliable, and very fast. in fact, if you shoot it one handed it will probably self extract and eject

Any functional firearm for less than $100 is a good deal IMO. Shotguns are always useful, and they make fine gifts if you have no use for any particular ones you aren't using.

If you roll your own, making loads for a 12 gauge that are more recoil sensitive appropriate for new or smaller in stature shooters is a great way to get people involved.

One day, I assume everything I own will get sold off at a great price to someone...unless I give it away first.
