Probably first steps to banning online sales and requiring purchases through FFL. Tax the hell out of it in order to try to control it/guns.

Better to pull it and sell it next weekend than to leave it out there and the miscreants steal it all and there's nothing to buy for a month.....

We see this every time Walmart expects violence. During several previous riots, Walmart did the same thing. They pull ammo from the shelves, and customers have to ask employees to go to the back and see if they have the caliber the customers want. However, whenever shopping at Walmart for anything, if you ask an employee if there is anything in the back, you get the easy answer--"No." So many employees will pretend to go to the back, camp out somewhere on their phones, and come out some time later to tell you they are out.

Most of the stores that still sell/sold firearms you could do special orders at as well. If you could find someone working the sporting goods counter that knew what they were doing AND were actually willing to help.

Ordered a Ruger American Predator in .308 there last February, took 4 days for it to come in to the store then 3 more days for someone to be working at the sporting goods counter who could actually do the checkout. (La Plata store)

    Confirmed at the Hampstead WalMart.

The nice older gentleman said everything was moved to the vault but he asked if there was something I needed. There wasn't, but I would presume they can sell if they choose to - but not display.

I can't say as I blame them - they're not armed like a gun shop if a mob of tolerant geniuses decide to loot weapons and ammo if things don't go their way.

We're already seeing emboldened lawlessness in major cities and urban areas where spineless "leaders" order law enforcement to stand down.

Some enterprising individual should start a business selling locally to individuals, like out of the back of his SUV or something.

When things were 'normal' could one go to the counter, ask for the catalog and actually 'order' a rifle/shotgun ? The sign on the wall inside the display case says as much but I figured that sign was out of date by at least a decade.

I did that just a few years ago at Fallston WM. Ordered a SS Marlin 336 in .30-30. It took 4-5 days to get in but the deal went off without a hitch. Only glitch was when I went to pick it up, no one there had a clue how to do the final sale. Luckily the guy that did the original order happened to come in early that day and did the deal.

I was in Walmart Mount Airy last week and I saw 1 box of 7mm (nothing else) and no rifles in the case.

I can’t blame them given the current circumstances.

    Let’s hope it’s temporary.

So, think about what this means if kneepads and peepads get elected. They have already promised to ban internet sales. If national retailers can just close the tap anytime they want, that chokes off 80% of ammo supply. No Ammo For You <said in soup Nazi>.

We make our own. And if we have to, we bring out the BP muskets. The original American Patriots didn't quit when the odds weren't in their favor. I don't think the current crop of American Patriots will either. :patriot:

Well yeah... WE do... but we aren't your average Americans. I think most folks here are well prepared for such contingencies, but I think the vast majority of gun owners will be sadly surprised if these events come to pass.
